I like the fly reel but in this case a trout on the fly reel is not necessary. If you keep the reel, as is, the contrast on the lettering to the reel must be separated as I will be using this image as a one-color graphic on prints, screens, and etchings. I was looking for a trout rising out of the water with FFB on it but the reel looks good! I like either the reel or a trout. I'd like to see a trout (simple) in place of the sphere/reel on the left rising out of the water (jumping) and keeping the FFB on the trout just to see your ability there. I like the the fly on the line - that looks good! Try reversing the fly so that it is looking towards the line and not away from the line. Try to take whatever you make and make a black on white representation of it (include it here) and see if the contrast is well enough for the viewer to see in detail and if the viewer can discern the FFB lettering too.
Maybe take the trout out, and not worry about the colors in the center and shrink the lettering a little with a black background. Reverse the fly on the line. If we want to do the colors, make the lettering below the fly on the line blue to depict the water (slightly stronger font) and make the FLY FISHING BENEFACTORS green? Just an idea.
OK, I have re-ranked the items and, after careful consideration, decided that you are the artist and not me. Could you keep the original design in entry #16 (my first choice now) and go with the black font in your entry #13 for the Fly Fishing benefactors, the line and fly, and the benfiting the sport of fly fishing? Also, please make the fly look the other way, towards the line. You have the fly looking right, I'd like the fly looking left, towards the line. Then, fill the middle of the reel with a half blue (bottom) and half green (top) center with the FFB centered. This is similar to what you did inyour entry #5. The updated version of the logo as I have now described (now that I have put black print back into the equation) needs to have a little color. I like your little wings on the reel in different colors but I am afraid that when I use this logo in an all-black presentation (or one color), the little wings will be lost in the work and no one will know what they are. Could you do a black-only entry of these latest changes and submit that too? Or, you could use the coloring pattern of the lettering and font from entry #20 but make the green solid (not opaque) and the blue solid (not opaque) and then the black the same. I would like to have some color and appeal on the colorful logo that can be used on t-shirts, mugs, but i need to have the system simple with the etching and lamination work on the hard products.
I really appreciated the way you took all our last inputs and incorporated them into your design to create entry #21 but then I saw the wavy line on the fly on entry #24, I really liked it better! Now, if we can get this whole logo inside a black oval (situated horizontally) - I think we will have what we need. It will make for an easier presentation on our black background homepage on our web site and it will also be better to contrast as a black-and-white only image on our trailers/trucks and our banners. Looking at entry #22, I really like the colors on the lettering and if the black font was a little darker on the bottom line, I think the lettering here in #22 and the graphics in #24, inside an oval would be absolutely the best. So, take the reel and the fly in entry #24, put it with the lettering of #22, darken the black third line of our mission statement and place the entire logo inside a black oval, I think we would have it.
OK, I think we almost have it. I have to apologize for my descriptions from yesterday. I just wanted a black oval ring (just the line with no black fill) around the entire logo you designed #42. I put your entry #41 first because it most closely represents what I want. The oval should be slightly bigger, to go around the reel and the print. Thefill inside the logo should be white. The little green swoosh and the little blue swoosh inside the oval is a nice touch. Remember, I need to have this logo on a black background, so the black oval will drown out the oval on my home page : http://www.flyfishingbenefactors.estoreadvanced.biz but I also need a logo that will be done in black only for my fly boxes, and other gear. So all the lines and fonts and the reel will be a black and white representation only. This is what I will do with my logo that you design here. If contest holder need other file like : png, pdf, psd, tiff etc, the contest holder can contact the designer by private message (PM) or contact to support@logotournament.com for other file needs. Thanks for all the additional information and thank you for doing a great job. I think we have a winner! The silver background and swooshes (entry #41) is still growing on me. The key is the black and white (entry #52) logo as that is what will be etched, screened onto my products. I'm thinking that entry #41 will be the eventual winner, with the hope that it too will look good in only a black-and-white representation. I guess I can get that version from you later after the contest closes.
