What We Do
Florida West Coast Credit Union is a 5-branch, 10,000 member credit union that serves employees, former employees, and employees' family members representing County government agencies across Hillsborough County and Pasco County, Florida (e.g. County, Tax Collector, the Sheriff's office). Learn more at https://www.fwccu.com/. Also, if you don't know, a credit union is like a bank except it typically caters to a particular set of people and its members are all partial owners.
The credit union's motto is "Live Better and Dream Bigger" and comes from its purpose statement: "The Florida West Coast Credit Union exists to help our members live better and dream bigger at every stage of their lives. We achieve this through meaningful, personalized, trusted relationships and an unyielding devotion to our members’ financial well-being." Reflecting this statement in the logo would be great.
Redesigning the logo is part of a rebranding exercise - to freshen the brand and appeal to younger people especially. The prior logo is decades old, outdated, and shows the entire Florida west coast when FWCCU serves the area around Tampa only. Note that the logo needs to complement the recently revamped website - in terms of colors, look and feel.
The new logo will be used everywhere: signage, correspondence, on the new website, on clothes.

Our Ideas and Additional Information:
See attached. We like the font, colors, design simplicity and overall balance. But the human figures within the sun are commonplace and overused, and as a result, we think the design is not innovative enough. By the way, the use of a wave and sun is optional - in fact, the largest credit union in Florida is Suncoast credit union, so using a sun is not optimal unless it is extremely unique. Aside from the logo reflecting the mission statement, another aspect of the credit union is the family approach, high-touch service everyone receives, and importance of giving back to the community.
