Looking at the other designs - it looks like the bridge of the goggles isn't visible due to blending in w/ helmet stripe. That's perfectly fine. It still conveys 'goggle' w/ just two shapes.

Probably too heavily textured. prefer the simpler goggles in the ranked image.

Love it, good choice of font. I think it conveys the right era even if it wasn't textured.

Thanks for including me in the rankings. I've uploaded #45 and #46 for the simplified version. I also added a weathered feel to the design to add to the vintage look.

Would be very interested in seeing an even simpler version of this. This logo is probably closest in elements to the original design, but it's still very complex compared to the ones the client has preferred.
If you can knock out the headlight to just 1-3 shapes. Lose the drop shadow on the text. Simplify the helmet/goggles down as far as you can go, scrap all the text on the bottom. I think it would be a real contender.
