Here is the initial logo idea I came up with for your run. I decided it would be good to have a strong emblem that reflects both the U of M and UW—one half is Gopher and one half is Badger. I also implemented the course you will be traveling on the football to further tie it all together. I didn't know if you had permission to use the actual university logos, but if you do we can drop in the Gopher's trademark "M" and the Badger's trademark "W" in place of the ones I have here.
Let me know your initial thoughts and if there is anything important that needs to be more prominent. Thanks!
And here is another option, with a ribbon added to further give the overall emblem more variety and to make the entire thing more enticing to look at. I also enriched the colors a bit.
Thank you for submitting your designs! To start, the word Fiji needs to be in the logo. Also, we think that the background emblem should be a bit more dynamic than the circle that it currently is. Some ideas include: a shield of sorts, the states, a football stadium, or a football. We don't like the font that you chose for rivalry run, we were thinking something more collegiate. We do like the route being outlined, as well as the red cross and ribbon.
Thanks for the detailed feedback; that helps a lot in making sure it looks how you want it to!
Here is another idea, where the overall shape is that of a stadium. I also incorporated all of the necessary words this time. Let me know what you think and if this is closer to what you were envisioning.
The borders on this design allow it to work on virtually any color. So if you are wanting to get shirts or something else printed for the participants, it will look always look great.
#10 is definitely closer to what we had in mind. We would like to see a gradient to give it more of a shine, as you did on your dek hockey logo. The design we had in mind was a bit more modern and refined, so we were thinking about making the stadium appear 3D. We would like to take emphasis away from the 3rd annual and put more on Fiji. We like that it s clear that it is a football game with the use of the football, although the idea of two crashing helmets is appealing. Seeing as how we are working closely with both athletic departments, we would also like to see the school logos either on the helmets or somewhere else on the logo. We hope this helps in creating your new designs!
Here is a revised design for your review. In regards to helmets, which I have planned space for (on either side of FIJI), can you post to the main contest page that you have permission to use their team helmets? I would just go ahead and add them in, but I know the site here is very cautious about copyrights/trademarks and would need to have acknowledge that it's ok first. Thanks in advance!
In the meantime, I will see how else I can use this particular design without the logos...
I am still working on additional stadium ideas, but here is another possible option for your review in the meantime. The flags are removed and the football is sticking out of the stadium, so that the idea of football is still instantly tied to the logo.
Were still not too thrilled with the overall look of the background, maybe try using the silhouettes of the states to see what that looks like. Also, the colors don't really work, the fiji color is a royal purple. One thought is to make two separate color schemes one for the badgers and one for the gophers, but I'm not sure on if we can take more than one logo, but that would be ideal seeing as the two color schemes don't fit well with one another.
Just giving you a quick heads up: I will be out of town until tomorrow visiting family, but I will also be doing work through out that time as well. I should have new designs posted later tomorrow for your review.
great job, we really like the new background. the only thing is that the wisconsin one should be red and white primarily, there is too much black. Also, I think the football might need some work; it looks a bit odd and out of place. we like the colors in #29 as far as the minnesota logo goes. Lastly, we want to change the wording to, "partnering with the red cross".
Sure thing; see what you think of this revision. I moved the football down a bit so that it looks better, but if you're not feeling this one I could try and make a new one.
Just a quick reminder for you: additional changes and revisions can still be made during Judging, if needed. Let me know if there is anything else you might want to tweak or see, and I will get them done first thing in the morning.
in reference to #34, we would like to see the red and white flipped, but still with black accents. In comparison to the gopher logo, maroon=red; gold=white; white=black. If you could try making a new football, we would like to see that. We are still deciding on the words in the ribbon.
Here is a new football I drew, based off of an official college ball. Let me know if this has more of the look you are wanting. I probably like this one the best, but I will leave it up to you!
Also, it is possible that you will have to have Admin manually end the contest, since there are not 3 designers in it at this point. All you have to do is click "HELP" on the top right of the page and send them a quick note saying you need them to mark your contest as complete. Let me know if you wish to have my help with it or not. Thanks!
best design so far. I think maybe it needs a thinner white outline on the football on the wisconsin one and a very thin black outline outside of the white. On the MN one, thinner gold outline of the football and a thin black stroke outside of that. Feel free to submit a few variation so we can pick our final design, we are very close!!!
great job on the football, one last thing that i didn't quite notice until now is that i like the shield on #34, so i would like to see that one on the wisconsin logo, and a gold one on the minnesota logo.
I send the site a message asking them to end the contest, thank you for all your hard work. If you could e-mail me #42, #43, and #48 that would be great, but on #48 please change the outline on the football to match #42.
