In engineering, the use of Greek symbols is common. For example, we started out with the use of the upper case Greek sigma - which in math means "summation of all things" - which is one of the thoughts we want to convey - that Fatigue Essentials provides the essential "summation of all things". Another common Greek symbol in engineering usage is the lower case sigma which translates to "stress". Since the input to our program requires "stress" numbers, it is also a relevant symbol.
An important image for our fatigue analysis program is the "rainflow" images used for cycle counting (please see the Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rainflow-counting_algorithm) and look at the images on the far right-hand side. Another name for the method is Japanese Pagoda style where the water drips off the roofs).
