Color Preferences
Ideally, our logo would be able to be represented in 2-3 colors (including background). Keep in mind that the logo will often be represented in laser etching and machined logos. That said, while a company specific color would be valuable, the logo's use necessitates that it can be represented in only two colors ("black and white," so to speak). If you are able to accomplish this while implementing a unique color that could become our own (say on our race cars), that is excellent.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Currently, we are using a logo that employs a start and a VKB KonQa font type. The logo is often shown abbreviated with the star and "FG". The font is shown in a small caps setup where "FAST" is in caps and "guys" is in lowercase. I like this setup.

Currently, the font used does not translate well into machined logos, as it has jagged edges and spotting. Ideally, the logo should involve a font that can be machined easily, meaning it should have smooth edges and should look OK when sharp edges are slightly rounded.

I like cursive fonts that are smooth and simple. The mine's motorsports cursive logo comes to mind. However, I also like the imposing, rigid look of the VKB conqa font I have previously used. So perhaps a cursive font is not appropriate.

I am open to different ideas and encourage them, but I would also like to see ideas of possible improvements over the current design. I like how the vkb conqa font has stars in them, tying in the current logo to any literature we release where that font is used in places other than the logo. So keep that in mind.

I would like whatever logo that is made to have a font I can get access to so that it can be used in all company literature for better continuity.

I like where this is going. I wonder how it would look if the "G" were lower case.

Side note, are the fonts you're using relatively standardized? Would I be able to find them for use on my website, physical banners, and product literature?

This is good too, but I'm thinking the star looks out of place. I'm not really sure where to suggest it go though. I would like it to get incorporated somehow. Might it look better if it were larger and outlined, so as to not overpower the "FG"? I don't want to get too specific with suggestions, because I am open to new ideas and don't want you to feel confined, design-wise

Logo Designer
Dear CH,
For your information, by the way you didn't know, when the contest is in "judging" period just the designer ranked first can send variations and updates of their logos.
If you want to ask for changes for any designer you need to rank him/her first.... after you can switch anytime the first rank position between designers and ask for the last changes to fine tune your logo before select the winner.

Bests and Good Luck
