Color Preferences
Ideally, our logo would be able to be represented in 2-3 colors (including background). Keep in mind that the logo will often be represented in laser etching and machined logos. That said, while a company specific color would be valuable, the logo's use necessitates that it can be represented in only two colors ("black and white," so to speak). If you are able to accomplish this while implementing a unique color that could become our own (say on our race cars), that is excellent.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Currently, we are using a logo that employs a start and a VKB KonQa font type. The logo is often shown abbreviated with the star and "FG". The font is shown in a small caps setup where "FAST" is in caps and "guys" is in lowercase. I like this setup.
Currently, the font used does not translate well into machined logos, as it has jagged edges and spotting. Ideally, the logo should involve a font that can be machined easily, meaning it should have smooth edges and should look OK when sharp edges are slightly rounded.
I like cursive fonts that are smooth and simple. The mine's motorsports cursive logo comes to mind. However, I also like the imposing, rigid look of the VKB conqa font I have previously used. So perhaps a cursive font is not appropriate.
I am open to different ideas and encourage them, but I would also like to see ideas of possible improvements over the current design. I like how the vkb conqa font has stars in them, tying in the current logo to any literature we release where that font is used in places other than the logo. So keep that in mind.
I would like whatever logo that is made to have a font I can get access to so that it can be used in all company literature for better continuity.
