Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
wow what great design submissions......i tried to comment on all of them and i really appreciate everyone's efforts, this is my first time using logo tournament so if my comments are too vague or need a little more clarification please let me know.....
I want to thank all of you for your entries....i just want to let you all know that i was going crazy looking at all the designs so i cleaned everything up and put some of the duplicates in the not interested section....please do not take offense, I'm just doing it so i can see the other entries a little clearer... :)
QUICK QUESTION: i noticed that a lot of you submitted graphics or logos with 3-d effects, for example, reflections, shadows, light spots...they will look great online or on a website, however, if one of those are chosen in the end do i get a basic logo that can be printed on letterhead or t-shirts etc so that the image will look crisp without the 3-d effects....please let me know....i am new at this....any insight will be helpful....
they (or at least i) basically can provide you with basic logo, but it's better if you ask them in here because not all the 3d effect logo looks good when it degrades to basic.
I usually start with a 2d logo and make sure it looks good first then add the 3d or 2.0 look as final touch to show what it would look like on a website as most logos are used on websites. I believe a logo should look good 2d and prefer the traditional 2d look myself but in these logo contests the CH's seem to be impressed by the 3d effect, so most designers do it. It is sad fact that these days a lot very classic logos are being changed into a flashy new designs/looks for no real good reason. (the xerox is a good example). Thats my two cents. ps. wolv is very good at the classic clean logo look.
I am with wolv and bluejet. I create logos in black and white first, then add color(s), and then make it web with reflections, gradients, and such other such effects. So, my suggestion to you would be ask the designer to show you what the logo will look like in black and white and then with solid colors and no effects.
