@bonniepirate (#5) we're not necessarily looking for direct reference to the twitterlogo. Most important for us is the fact that the logo expresses: transparancy, engagement and democracy. This all in the light of the new social media "hype" which is taking place at this moment and which puts the "power" back to the people through the fact that they can constantly get directly in contact with their politicians through twitter, twitpics, etc.

Twitter exists by the power of interaction, it is not a one way street! Using the bird (twitterlogo) is not obligatory neither are the stars but they have a strong function in the recognition.
