Here are some of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
These look really good. Thanks! I like the more 3D icons (#27 and #29). I also like the representation of the "E" and "C" in the #29 icon. I'm not sure about the "S" in Entre-Strat Consulting but that's okay. Could you use a lighter/softer blue?
Here are some of the logos I found in the gallery that caught my eye. http://min.us/mR36qC34L
I really like the tweaks! Thanks. I am usually a big fan of gradients but in this case I think #31 is a little too light at the top. #34 is my favorite so far. I really love the icon in #32 but I don't know that it really conveys any part of the "ESC" but perhaps that's ok. Good work! Just FYI, I believe the blue being used on the website is #31abe5 and I'm not sure how that compares to your blue. I really like your blue.
Glad you like the tweaks. I have to say, on a personal level, I think I prefer the non-graded options ... Makes them look cleaner and sharper.
What I've done with the latest entries is taken the top 3, and used that colour blue (from the website) #36, #36 and #37. I think it still works with that blue, its just a tad lighter.
In terms of the other icon (#32), my thinking was that it says at the core (green center element) of anything is Entre-Strat - consulting about business and technology (which is represented by the pixels coming of the side). Hope that makes sense :)
Very nice Angus! #34, #35 and #32, #36 are still my favorites. I completely agree with you on the gradients. I didn't quite understand your reasoning behind the #32 icon but that's okay I still really like it.
Sorry my fault, I'm not the best at explaining and did it late last night UK time :)
If you look at the shape, it was originally a square, where the top right edge has been turned inwards to create a center core element (the green square). But doing this the negative white space forms the shape of a "C" representing consulting. So the idea being at any businesses core, they should use Entre-Strat as their consultants for technology (this is represented by the digital pixels on the top left side of the icon) and business needs. On a side note, the pixels also represent different ideas coming together to form one "core" solution to satisfy the needs of your customers.
Fantastic job Angus and thanks for the explanation and subsequent variations! I'm torn between #53 and #56. If it's not too much trouble could you do a variation on #53 with the same drop shadow as #28?
Sure thing ... And here are two variations: #57 - shadow touching #58 - shadow slightly away from the icon
Although I like this style of shadow, personally I think the more solid option works better with the icon. Only reason being is that nothing else has a gradient, so keeping the shadow solid keeps consistency throughout the whole logo.
Mmm, well, on one hand #56 has a story that could be told and spun from the icon and the angular lines of the icon match the vertical lines of the text ... whereas #53 shows a clear and concise combination of the E, C and digital pixels but might be clearer and slightly bolder. I have to say personally I'm undecided, sorry not sure it that helps anything :)
