I've taken a careful look at your brief and my solution is a clean, modern design that will appeal to the architectural sector as well as the business owners and managers. I've incorporated a shape which is abstract leaf - a reflection of the strong environmental message - and "drawn" it in led lights.

Works over white for print applications. (Note the version over blue could also work in print as it consists of flat colours - nothing tricky that can cause trouble at the print stage).

A series of light glows overlap to create a white light. One green "light" relates to the green message.

Over a blue background for web or print use.

Hi Charcoal,
Like what you have done. Prefer the simplest form of it without slogan or "Australia" We like that it will work on either background.

Great, thanks.
I feel it's important to keep the look the same on either background. Especially challenging when the theme is light.

Agree - I think the slogan only needs to be added when it's appropriate/necessary.

The dots used in our origninal logo are symbolic of the brightening of LED's over the last 5 years..... but we couldnt make it work on a white background. With that in mind, what are your thoughts about your dots? I do like the way the dots combine to create the + sign.....

My thoughts with the dots was that the leds needn't be shown literally as dots - I thought that since leds are becoming a new and versatile light source that we could focus on the generated light as opposed to the lights themselves. So the glows in my design could be where the light is hitting a surface - and four beams are overlapping.

I experimented with making the shapes into an abstract shape of Australia. It didn't work. But this design actually has a very loose Aussie shape to it. In the end it didn't seem important - and focusing on the green factor and the benefits (positive + sign) outweighed any other need.

It's important to make the brand look stylish as leds are new and people might not be aware of what can be achieved with them.

I experimented with actual dots but the designs looked dated and didn't transfer to a white background well.

I think the 5 year reference is a nice idea but is it critical?

My comment about the 5 years and 5 dots is purely coincidental as far as the relationship between the number of dots. My point was meant to be the emergence of LED as a viable light source.

This was an earlier concept where I was exploring the growth of led. Just thought I'd let you see it for the thought process - you might like it. Let me know your thoughts.

This is another direction for your consideration.

Hi Charcoal, (btw, what is your name?)

Can you have a look at our original logo (with the dots underneath) and play around with the black background... rather than just a square, turn it into an oval and have the edges graduated rather than a solid break from black to white. Also, use the font you have used in the above.

Hi, it's Michael

Sure thing, I'll take a look.

If this is something you'd like all designers to take a look at could you post the info in the main discussion area to be fair to all.

Blurred edge is not working well in my opinion - it is conflicting with the clean look. I prefer it as is here.

Thanks Michael,

Very fair minded of you - I have done so.

We prefer the graduated dots. Can i send you a file of the dots that we currently use, or can you duplicate this?

The background is slightly too oval to my eye. What does it look like slightly squared (I dont mean that literally, just a slightly squarer oval)

Lights in an arc over the text - this seems to relate to the word "enlighten" quite well.
