Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. The logo is 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,

Thanks for the great designs so far! I really like how everything is well-balanced - and also the simplicity. For #12, maybe warp the words HAWAII to fit within the area it current sits in (kind of stretch it?). I like #15 a lot, but obviously it looks more like Colorado than Hawaii... So, maybe it would be possible to swap the mountains with a Volcano / Mauna Kea since we do actually have an active volcano here on the island which is quite famous. And maybe the river somehow can be changed for ocean? I don't know, I think I have a sample idea on my office computer that I will upload in a few hours.. Here is the revision of #12 - #32 where I've filled the "Hawaii" into the space. I also tried blue and orange combination (which are a great combination as they are complimentary colours on the colour spectrum).
Great work on the logo design! Wondering if it would be possible to adjust the ocean a bit to add more waves (nothing to crazy), but just enough so it looks like a ocean rather than one wave/ripple on each side. Something similar to the Japanese artwork illustration I uploaded..
Also, not sure how it would look, but maybe a little bit more Hawaiiana with the font?? Again, nothing too over the top to where it begins looking cheap, but something similar to one of the other designs (ranked #2).
I like all the color combos you have created. At this point I can't say which I prefer though? They are all nice!

Not a problem re the changes let me see what I can do :-) Waves shouldn't be a problem, font wise I can't copy the other style but will try something unique.
One question though - do you want to try a more hawaiian font for the word "endurance" or the word "Hawaii"? I think it would work better for the word endurance since the Hawaii is already custom and stretched ...
And here are some of those variations ... With the last one #106 to simplify things I combined the mountain/volcano with the waves. Also making it slightly more compact and not as tall.
I just met with my business partner to review the logos. We both are leaning towards your design #105, #106, #104.
Wondering if you could slightly bevel/round some of the corners on the shield to soften things up? Just an idea..
We like the sun popping up somehow behind the volcano, but feel the rays are quite overpowering. Maybe just a solid background color instead of the rays? - or the subtle blue-tone rays as in #104.
...Just trying to simplify the logo a bit if possible.
#117 - Small 3mm rounded corners, sun rays but very subtle, blue wave tip to distinguish the two elements #118 - Medium 4mm rounded corners, no sun rays, less sky, and waves blended into volcano, no grey highlights #119 - Large 5mm rounded corners, no rays, but clouds, wave blended into volcano, and top of orange banner for the word Endurance also rounded.
Personally, I think I prefer either the 3 or 4mm rounded corner, and probably leaning towards the 3mm. I think the rays dropped back work quite nicely and put the focus on the volcano and waves. So I'd probably lean towards #117 - but maybe blend the waves into the volcano like in #119 - makes it a step simpler again.
