Color Preferences
I would like the logo's colors to complement the rest of my existing website (http://encosia.com). I don't have any particular colors that I absolutely hate. I do like the color blue for this (but not too much of it), but that's certainly not set in stone if a design looks good without it.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I'd like to see something bold, yet not over the top. Something that will hold its own at the top of my website (http://encosia.com), without being gaudy or overly distracting from the content.

It would be useful if some part of it could be extracted for use in small, square areas, like a favicon or messageboard avatar.

It should also be a design that I can adapt to business cards later.

I updated the brief to exclude "Web 2.0". I like some aspects of those logos, but I don't want the cliche Web 2.0 reflections or anything else that will look dated in a year or two when "Web 3.0" is the next fad.

I'd also like to make sure that some aspect of the logo is able to be extracted for use in a small, square area (e.g. favicon, messageboard avatar, etc).

Some general comments:

I would like to see the designs on a background similar to the banner at the top of my site, so I can get a good idea of what they'd look like on my site. The gradient currently on the banner is available here: http://encosia.com/blog/images/banner-gradient.png. I'm not opposed to subtly changing it though, as seen in #75, #78, and #79.

I don't like rounded fonts. I prefer the fonts in #48, #43, #50, and #88, for example.

I definitely want to see a solid, standalone graphic of some sort, as you can see by my rankings. The graphics in #48, #78, and #81 are the sort of thing I have in mind. #43 too, if it can work on a dark background. That said, I could make an exception for something like #50 if it were fleshed out a bit more.
