when i was in boy scouts emerald bay was the place i always wanted to go, but we always went to the less-cool camps.

Sorry to hear you never got to go to EB! Are you in the Southern California area? Maybe you could volunteer! :)

Regarding the logo, we like that you're trying something different and using the island (and showing the location of EB on the map). It's a little busy, though. What about removing the fleur de lis, and shrinking the swords down -- and then using the crossed swords to make an "x marks the spot" kind of icon?

Also, the font is a bit too embellished for us. We are leaning towards serif fonts, but we need it to be a bit more serious.

Finally, the word "Alumni" should have the same weight as "Emerald Bay" -- so at first glance it does not read just as "Emerald Bay" (we need to be absolutely clear that the EBA is a separate organization.

ha ha, i would love to take some time off and volunteer, i have a feeling it would be a hard sell to my wife and kids :)
