Hi... thanks for the feedback. I made a few changes here.. I fixed the letter spacing and reworked the width and spacing on the swoosh. I also made the crane a little bit smaller, added an extra overlay on the buildings and added a ring around the circle backdrop.
Is this the kind of blue you're looking for? or something lighter?
#132 looks good - the color is right on. I can't help but think the buildings can use something. Complexity or a detail maybe. I can't put my finger on it. Or what if the center building (the one being worked on) stood out in some way?
A great concept and it seems to be just a few tweaks away from being perfect.
I'm just trying different things. Ultimately, I can change anything you need changed before sending you the logo. I won't be able to work on this for a while.... as I have to go to work now.... but please leave me some feedback and any ideas you have and I will submit more before the deadline tomorrow. There are a number of things we could try.
just different logos to look at for you. One of the things I advise against is picking a logo that doesn't let people know what business you're in. This is just a suggestion.... but I've been designing for many years before I joined this site.... and many times people end up having to have their logo redone because of this.
Just a friendly word.... as ultimately you still have to pick something that really speaks to you.
Hi. On #155.... I added the sleek style windows instead of those ugly, blocky ones. I also varied each blue side for interest and added in a hint of a complimentary color in yellow. The backdrop circle is a little larger and gels with the swoosh better. Also, I connected the 'E' and the 'N' in the word 'element'.
Overall, it is a little lighter..... but anything can be changed. Basically, you can just a la carte from my submissions and I'll do it.
#155 is a huge improvement over prior iterations. I liked #133 but something about it was too dark, and you nailed it by changing the windows. A couple tweaks if you have time: 1) can the font be darkened a bit similar to #133 and 2) can "construction services" be the type below "Element"?
I agree that it would be ideal if the logo illustrated our industry, but I think a semi-related or theme/concept logo could also work as the primary function of the logo is to be recognizable/unique/memorable. 99% of our advertising is through word of mouth and our contacts, so we probably won't be using the logo to advertise, if we do much advertising at all.
That being said, I can definitely see the benefits of having the logo be a more literal representation. It will come in handy down the road as we expand. We're not going to sit back and rely on the same set of accounts to survive. And #155 is the best industry-related logo we've seen. This has become a very difficult decision.
I thought I would submit this one I had been working on. It's kind of what you were talking about.... a recognizable symbol that doesn't necessarily describe the business.
OK... I got your message and will make some corrections to the other one.
I cleaned up the edges of the ring. Added extra yellow band to encompass the crane. Darkened the company name. Changed wording to 'construction services' and boxed it in.
