Electra-Gard, IncLogo Design Contest

hello, here my first entry for our review. i have constructed a letterform mark from the companies initials „e“ and „g“. the logo is bold, symmetrical and compact- suggesting security, stability and reliability. additionally it‘s simplicity will allow the logo to be instantly recognized and easily remembered. i chose blue for coloring, as blue generally is perceived as a serious and trustworthy color. however if you would like to see a different color, i‘ll be happy to adjust. the logo can easily be inverted or reduced to a a grey scale meaning it will work well in all situations- whether web, stationary or fax. any feedback or suggestions are very welcome!

Is it possible to add a shiny sphere look with a shadow under to your design. How would a gradient of the color you used top to bottom?
