Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Thanks! Yes, I am looking for something that will work with embroidery/tshirts etc. I would be interested in seeing some version where the EAST SIDE part has more emphasis than the Industry.
I posted a comment about this on the main page. but just in case you did not see it, I will copy it here:
Hi All! Thank you all for the great designs. I talked to the partner on this and he thinks we are going too heavy on the industrial look. He would like it to look less factory and more small business type industry. Soften it a little. Could be retro/vintage but does not have to. Still wants the simplicity and the blue collar look, just not so "machine". I have updated the Pinterest page for ideas http://www.pinterest.com/sabinedukes/esi-graphics-inspirations/
I am going to go through the logos and make comments to this effect and see if there are ways to work with things you have already done. However, we are not abandoning the high ranked ones yet at this time either!
A couple of new editions with #127 and #128 - less industrial, with a slight vintage feel.
Also with #128 I used the Smith's blue butterfly which is actually one of Santa Cruz's symbols! I thought about the bear but that's more of a Californian symbol, so thought I'd specifically use one for Santa Cruz.
re: #128 thank you and the monarch is one of the symbols. However, this logo is for an action sports brand (think bmx, skateboards) and so the butterfly isn't quite the right image.
