Thanks so much for the quick response. I do like the new design entry 66
Wondering if we could try the original Entry 53 (separate letters) font with the less swirly "E" and "g". Can you combine something similar to the "E" and "g" from 66 with the Entry 53 font style?
Also, the butterfly is perfect for the website, however I will also be needing a white version (as well as colored) at reduced opacity for watermark use. In doing some rough testing of this in Photoshop the solid butterfly wings do not translate that well. See example: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32425181/watermark_test.png
I would love to see what thoughts you have towards dealing with this kind of issue.
Good morning from Greece Magie, i 've made the changes to (E&g)and also i'm sending to versions for watermark use.Feel free to let me know if you like to see any changes. best regards boybud40
Thank you so much for your ongoing efforts and sticking around until the final round! Your creative input is much appreciated. Moving forward, here are a few comments regarding what I would like to see from the the top 5:
- in your case, I like the fonts in 151, 152 and 66; open to other along similar lines as yours and the other top 5 - also really like the Photography font/color - I tried the butterfly logos as watermark. As much as I love the graphic, it doesn't work as well as it looks on website or in print; I also do male and corporate head shots on occasion which require something a little less feminine - I have not ruled out the butterfly but would love to see some other graphic ideas keeping in mind the following features: subtle, not too big, matching color of Photography, soft but not too girlie or cute
I hope you have time for more and look forward to continuing to explore some options
Hi again, further to my last, here is a copy of recent update to everyone
Hello everyone
I want to thank each and everyone of you, including all designers not ranked in the top five, for your many wonderful designs and contributions. I feel very fortunate to be able to work with some many talented artists!
Moving forward, I would like to share some additional guidelines:
- generally happy with fonts but open to new ones similar to the top ranking logos unless I specifically ask you to work with a certain font - very interested in variations of a graphic with following features:
- subtle; not too big or distracting from 'Earthling'; color matching "Photography"; soft but not too feminine (keep in mind: want to be able to use it for male/corporate head shots down the road); friendly/warm but not too cute; has to look good on watermark
- here is another tricky one: would love to see some sort of graphic options that resemble more a person (ie. Earthling/human); note: the character should NOT be too cute (i.e. smiley face) but rather something abstract...yet warm and friendly looking
I appreciate the last one may be a tough one to work with and welcome your own ideas and variations such as the ones received to date!
I am abandoning the idea of a "character" as it's too difficult to work with
In your case would like to stick with the butterfly theme but try some different butterfly variations; something a bit smaller in and around the 'g'
also prefer slightly different font, something more along the lines of # 179, #107, # 177, but of course not the same, just looking for LESS of an italics type font
Entry #187 Entry #186 Hi from Greece Magie, i 'm sending a version with small butterfly with normal colour and one with black backround so you can see how this is going to look as watermark.I believe it's looking good.I also believe that Entry #152,i mean the size of the butterfly is working better as watermark.I also believe that butterfly is neutral not feminineLet me know what you think. best regards boybud40
as far as I am concerned I love butterflies, but I am getting feedback from other photographer friends to keep it more abstract and suitable for older audiences down the road.
if u have time, would love to see some more abstract variations
also, font much better but can you make it little thinner? It has a bit of a heavy feel to it
Entry #215 Hi from Greece Magie, we have a problem with your contest. Some designers are using the butterfly concept which they souldn't do because it's my idea. Here is a competition site which everybody have to present to clients original ideas from himself and not to use elements which somebody else brought in the competition. That's why i asked from some designers to withdraw their entries which use the butterfly or variations of that.I' ll wait your reply about that issue. best regards boybud40
Thank you for your msg. I appreciate your concerns and I certainly appreciate your work to date.
My primarily goal is to get the right font. I picked logos ranked #1, 2, 3 because I really like their fonts.
I do like the branch/leaf idea, One of my sample logo ideas ("My Serenity Spa") included a branch and leaf. Please see image attached to the original Brief. In any event the graphic is secondary to Font. I am planning on using the logo for watermarks and some graphics simply don't work.
again, I thank you for all your contributions!
Let me know your thoughts via primate msg or as an update whatever you prefer.
- interesting but line cutting through the letters doesn't work for me - would like to stick to the brown/blueish colors - graphic matching photography - like the leaves
