The "landscape" in #2 and #3 is something I am not sure about.
Arrows might be too cliche (and often used for "refresh" indicator).

in #2 and #3 it's suppose to be a picture of a cape.. ;) will update #1 to use the color from 5

We are also discussing about how complex/simple the actual icon should be. Might also try some form of playing with letters "E" and "C". Along the lines of https://logotournament.com/contests/gamedb winning entry.
I admit we do not have a nice and defined idea we would like implemented but we would like to have one developed as we go. Perhaps a combination of a graphical element (such as a leaf, although i have to say it might be too straightforwardly pointing into "green" direction ) and a stylized trick with letters.

yes that's what i thought too. this new entry #7 is E and C,... the orange is the e, and the c is in the negative space. i can also try to loose the green leaf.. and change it to something else.

hi, so here i come again with simpler design.
on #8 it's a letter play on 'e' and 'c' where the 'e' is the green and the 'c' is in the negative space inside the 'e'
on #9 same as #8 but using rounder shape
on #10 just simple E and C with the earth inside the C

and since this has something to do with data management, how about something along #11, with the file

sorry i keep posting, i just can't stop, the idea just keep flowing... ;)
again, something abstract like #12,.. well the lines and dots means data transfer... like between client and server

you can also see the letter E inside #12

#7 and #12 are good. As for current concepts lets try a combination of #7 - take the icon (perhaps make it larger) and take the font from #12 (put it to the side of the icon) and take the font colors from #1 (including "earth" in bold). Lets see if this works.

We also need to explore more concepts.

Firstly, some other ways to combine of E and C (but keeping the thing 2D).
Another thing to consider is the social, multi-user, and multi-subject aspect of the software - let your imagination run with it.

hi, thanks for the feedback. so ok here are the updates:
entry #16 with the icon of #7 and font of #12 and font color of #1. looks better IMO
#17 and #18 trying to make the e and c more visible by adding color to 'c'
#19 combining my previous design with more prominent e and c

yes, will think about more design that include multi-stuff thing. will keep you posted. thanks

#21 is going to interesting direction. Currently there is slight resemblance to typical RSS feed icon, but if it is made simpler... Say, fill the white with green color and include the central dot in it (made green too). Perhaps use the text and colors from #18?

#22 looks good except too much resemblance to Internet Explorer icon...

Will be back with more comments.

And, yes, keep the ideas flowing :)

#26 #27 #32 taking your advise on #21. i think the resemblance on rss icon is a great idea. it fulfills the social/client server thing of the logo. the green and the orange doesn't go well together without the white, so i take some variations on it.
#28 #29 #30 #31 basically a variation of #21. still clearly say e and c, #30 and #31 using a new choice of font. and #31 morphed the icon to have rss in it...

Sorry, a little miss-communication here. The concern previously was that the logo might resemble RSS logo *too much*. This is not what we're after. So let's drop the RSS idea. The old font (pre #30 and #31) is better, let's keep the old font. Can you try #29 with the white lining as in #32 and "earth" with grey?

oh okay. just eliminate stuff that resembles too much on rss thing.
okay, so we're using the old font like #17. will update #29 as requested. just a minute...

okay the updates are on #33 -> it's #29 with white lining and gray 'earth';
also i have #34 and #35 for possible combination.

#36 thickened the white lining... hmmm

#34 is interesting. How about rounding the corner of the letters?

Sorry, I actually meant the E and C in the icon part. So that the sharp corner in the lower right part of the square is also rounded, as in #17

Still about #37. Any options for a dark color? It looks good but just a little bit too gloomy.

#39 using dark earth brown.

ok, #39 looks good. I think we are already exhausting this concept.
Any suggestions for completely different designs?
Please, give us some starting points and we see if any of them is worth pursuing.

hey sorry i have to withdraw some designs. looks like someone's objecting that my design is too similar to his so i don't want to loose my chance here. it's your no 3 rank design.
but the rank 1 and all the variation i can assure you it's unique. already did little research and nothing looks like them. ok thanks

#65 has a potential.

Right now, #30 is our favorite, it's more elegant as whole (logo + text). The logo part for #28 makes a better stand-alone icon, though. The color scheme is better for #28, green a little washed out right now in #30.
