Mostly I tried to convey the "dynamic" idea with this design, and contrasting the flowing lines of the logo with rather squarish (but modern) text seemed to fit well. The color combination worked out rather well on this one, and I think the juxtaposition between blue and orange really helps it stand out.

#11 This is totally unlike anything I thought I was looking for but it is very cool! My concerns are is that it doesn't say what I do -- which is to train people who want to work in front of the camera doing multi-media advertising i.e., commercials, etc. I am not locked into having a camera (real or symbolic) in the logo but I do need something that says "Oh, yes, these are the guys who do...."

Hopefully, that will resonate with you in some manner and you will have something else to show me because I like this and I certainly agree with you, this is dynamic

I tried to take into account your comments with these two designs. I decided the filmstrip was an appropriate way of linking the design to the content of your work. Using it also allowed me to retain the previous design, placing it in such a way that it seems to"break the mold" of standard filming practice. I played around a bit with placement and balance between the two variations, also testing the inclusion of your slogan.

Please continue to provide feedback, I really appreciate it and it's the best way for me to come up with what's best for you. Thanks!

Hi. I still like # 11 the best. I am not sure that the introduction of the film strip helps all that much. I know what it means but we are moving into the world of digital and a film strip (which is not something we would ever use) just doesn't jive with what we do.

I do have a question for you. How easy or hard is it going to be to re-create all the different colors in # 11 for a web site, stationery, t-shirts, etc? And is it possible to add the slogan to #11?

Thank you,

John

Here's the original with the slogan included. Sorry you didn't like the filmstrip, but I understand your reservations about implementing it in your logo. Perhaps I'll look for some other relevant designs to include, and see how you like those.

As far as practical usage of this logo, there would be no major complications. For online use, there's really no changes necessary - the final file you receive is a scalable vector graphic that can be resized losslessly and used in any forseeable digital application.

For printing purposes, there's nothing for you to worry about either. Rather, once you hand over the file to whoever is doing your printing, they will convert the file to use a sort of dot-pattern to represent the different colors as mixtures of the base printing ink colors (cyan, magenta, yellow, and key/black). This allows for any color to be reproduced, even the gradients that I have implemented in this logo. If your printer does not provide this service for whatever reason, (I don't see why they wouldn't, but stranger things have happened) I can create this dot-patterned variation (known as a "color-halftone") of the design for you.

Here are a couple with a light box included, "lighting up" the main 3 letters. Since your business focuses on training people to be in front of the camera, I figured the idea of being under the lights would be an appropriate association to make in your logo.

Thanks for your newest designs. Like them a lot. My favorite is #25. Am wondering what it would look like with three modifications - two small, one big.

1st small one -- for the slogan, how about all the letters in black? I feel putting "today" in orange doesn't add all that much value.

2nd small one - I like the color shade you used for DYNAMIC better in #27.

The big thing -- what would it look like if you used a camera instead of a light box. I like the light box and yes, my clients will be working with them but the thing that separates what we do and what a lot of other people do is we put everyone on camera (and of course, they are going to be working in front of a camera after our training is over).

Your thoughts? So glad you "got" this color thing. It looks good. Your original design looked great but unfortunately it didn't say what we did. Thanks, John

New design with your changes implemented. I like the look of the camera, wasn't entirely sure what to do colors wise so I left it primarily black to see how you feel about that before trying something else. I feel like making it orange would be a bit too much - maybe I'll experiment with some smaller highlights to see if that's to your liking.

Liking #33 a lot. You are definitely in the sweet spot. Don't know what else to suggest. Will run it by one of my partners and get her opinion. Nice work!

Made a couple tweaks I'd like to get your opinion on:

-Adjusted the gradient on the acronym to favor more of the darker rust-orange color you seem to prefer
-Lightened the blue gradient on the camera lens
-Added a small orange highlight on the camera's body

Mostly just fine tuning things now - there's a couple more little things I might bounce off of you but these were the first that came to my mind.

#42 - really liking these adjustments. Talked to one of my partners. She had a great suggestion. Could you make the font for the company name a little more eye-catching? Not necessarily bolder but something that calls a little more attention to the name.

And a color adjustment for Dynamic. I would like to see what it looks like if you use the same dark color you are now using in the acronym.

Like that you highlighted the camera's body. Would it be to much to put a little "pop" in the lens of the camera, like a little light reflection? Not a light but like a reflection of a light bounding off the lens.

Nice work. John

OK. Here are two variations on the lens reflection idea. Both designs also include the same font changes to the company name text. I made the letters slightly bolder and farther apart from one another, while giving each word its own outline of a slightly different shade of its main color (or in the case of the black, an orange outline). I feel that these changes should provide the "pop" you're looking for, but if it's not quite enough, there are other things I can try.

Silver,

Back to #48, which if you can see my rankings is ranked #1.

A couple of tweaks if possible. I would like the color of the font for Dynamic to be a little darker, a little more burnt orange. And as for the font for the company name could you replace what you have for the font another designer used (that design currently ranked #4 in my rankings)?

I don't know if that is cool to ask that but I barely know one font from another and that seems like a good way to short-cut the information. No shadow effect however, just the font.

Also the color for the word Training, could you take that back to black, please.

Thank you, John

Changed the font and implemented coloring changes. I don't really feel comfortable taking another entry's font directly, so I used one that was close. Let me know if you like this one, or if I should try others. I also played with the camera tripod to look more like that which you would see a studio camera on, tell me if you prefer the new or old one.

Again, thanks for the continued feedback!

Robert,

Like the changes. It has been a long day, just seeing #53 & 54 now. Will give you more in depth feedback tomorrow. Good, though, very good.

Robert, Thank you for the changes. I hear you about the font and respect that totally.
I do like the new font in #53 & 54. Like them both very much and fluctuate back and forth between the two as to which one is my favorite.

I have #54 ranked as number one right now and it could just as easily be #53. The only difference I see is the camera. Is that right?

That's correct, all that's different is the tripod.

Hey John,

Tried some new approaches to the highlights on the camera. The old one was starting to feel a bit lacking to me. I also made the main acronym a bit taller, to fit in with the new taller tripod. Did some small color and placement edits here and there. I may do another tripod variation soon, as well, just to see what fits you and your coworkers' tastes best. Hope you like the changes!

Robert,

Liking both of these # 67 more than #66, the camera is a little simpler. Will run these by my team probably tomorrow. The Mets are playing now, have to go help them beat the Cards. Thanks, John

Hey John,

Tried a couple ideas out with these new designs, mostly working towards making the design a bit softer and messing around with the colors. Hope you like them.

Robert, after much deliberation we finally made our selection. It was a very difficult process (much more than I thought it would be). In the end your entry came in 3rd. It has nothing to do with your talent, more with our tastes. Thank you so much for all of your hard work. It was all very much appreciated. Best of luck as you continue on in the design world. John

It was great working with you! Honestly, it's hard to get a client that provides such valuable feedback - I really appreciate it. Thanks a lot and I hope your logo choice works out well for you!
