I decided to concentrate at the duplicity of the first lettter of the two words, the letter D. I included the second d inside the first in order to create a clear but special outline design, that means unity and protection. The concept of the symbol has to be clear in order to use it at those mediums you discibed. Finally i choose that font because it is easy to read and well drawned.
