We like the simplicity of the font and arrow effect. Is there any cool design you can put around the wording that complements the simplicity? Thank you for the efforts to date.
Stickie - thanks for sticking with us. We're back to basics with look, so would you make the SKIN CARE wording larger, and in black, making the font bigger and more readable, under the dude wording?
Also, somewhere a 1/2 inch below SKIN CARE stick in MIAMI BEACH in slightly smaller font in CAPS in black also. Sort of like when you see Chanel and PARIS underneath it.
Please work on this ASAP as contest ends soon. Thanks -
#197 #198 #199 #200 #201 #202 #203 #204 #205 #206 #207 here are the requested revisions plus a couple of versions with different color combos and different placement of ''miami beach''
Stickie - thanks for the time on multiple versions. Can you work with #202 to add maybe 1/4 inch between dude and SKIN CARE lines, and about 1/2 inch between SKIN CARE and MIAMI BEACH.
Make the MIAMI BEACH font about 50% larger but still less than the size of SKIN CARE.
And lastly, using those same proportions, increase the overall size about 25-50% to see how it looks larger.
Please submit those last minor changes requested in last message, they are very minor.
Also, would you produce just one last variation in which the blue and green colors of your eBinder winning logo are acting as a gradient of sorts coming from the top of the word "dude" angling upwards in a northeast direction. There are only a couple of hours remaining, we appreciate your effort.
Thanks for the revisions, looks great. #212 seems like the best one for proportions, though please shrink the MIAMI BEACH about 25% and put about 1/4 to 3/8" more space between SKIN CARE and MIAMI BEACH.
Also, for just one more "look" would you try one version where you make the "dude" appear somehow more 3D like. This is just an idea for a look and may not work, but if you can use your creativity to have the dude letters appear like they are coming off the page, then let's at least take a look at it. We just want to keep the simple and clean look of it but see if there's any way to have it be even more eye catching.
Thanks again for your hard work and time. It is much appreciated!
great work, thanks for the effort. You're obviously very talented. We like several of the recent versions you sent, but think perhaps the simple flat look of #220 is best. If OK with you we would love to be able to keep perhaps 3 of these versions since as you said they are the same thing, but with the slight 3D changes to them.
In your own honest assessment, having done so many logos for different types and sizes of companies, considering we need to catch the eyes and imagination of 18-25 year olds, which version do you think accomplishes this best? It just seems as if every serious logo of large companies, from Microsoft, Apple, Chanel, Revlon, and many others all have simple, elegant and flat designs in their look with very little "fluff." We want to be one of those brands someday. So what are your own thoughts?
You dont have to worry about using the falt one as well as a 3d version of it.
Flat logos provide better contrast ,they are simple and memorable and in most cases have a lot more impact than a 3d polished multicolored version of the same logo.Since contrast is not an issue they are easily used in grayscale and easily printed. Maybe you have noticed that most companies have a flat versions of their logos as well as shiny/3d/colorful ones.Like apple are using a flat one color version and a 3d glass-shiny version of their logo. In fact every logo has to be able to translate into black and white in order to have its full functionality.
In your case it would be best to get the flat version and choose one of the 3d ones as the official ones... Of cource you can also get more 3d versions to use for your different series of products for example and still using the flat one if you want to have a more classical/serious look on a certain product. A flat ,one colored version should also be used on the back-label.
I have sharpened the upper part of the letter D on some of the 3d versions and if you choose some of them you have to decide whether you want the sharp or the original edges and I will either adjust the original or the 3d one.
Thank you for the very thoughtful feedback, and we agree that the flat #220 is the way to go for the main logo, but having the 3D version to use for certain places makes great sense.
Would you just try the following variations on #220:
- just for a look purpose, would you see how a more complete "u" in dude looks, where the arrow still remains as is, and also change MIAMI BEACH to MIAMI, dropping the BEACH and centering MIAMI.
- in #221, would you see how a shiny silver highlighting looks instead of the green, also trying the more complete "u" in dude and the MIAMI at bottom.
Once we see these, we will make the final call on which ones are best. We really appreciate the chance to have both a flat and 1 or 2 3D versions, as they are outstanding. The winner will be either the current #220 or if one of the variations with the "u" and MIAMI works better. And feel free to give your opinion on them as well, as this is a collaborative effort. You know what works visually and catches the eye best.
The contest officially ends today and we will make you the winner, but before it officially ends, would you craft those last changes requested in email 2 days ago? #220 is the overall winner right now, but if the "u" in dude looks better as a more complete "u" then we want to at least consider it.
Please let us know, as time is speeding forward today as the contest ends. Thanks again for the great work -
you dont have to worry about the official end of the contest,I will do all the necessary revisions(more complete U etc.) and make sure you are happy with your new logo before uploading the final files.I've just had a hard week and thats why I havent responded immediately.
Thanks for the edits, looks great! Let us know if you agree, but we like the more complete look of the U in #238 versus #220. So here are the final changes and we will get this done:
- #238 is the overall 2D winner, but please add back MIAMI BEACH in the same size and proportion as it was in #220. And also keep a version with just MIAMI but in that same smaller font.
- please also edit #221 as the 3D winner, making the U the same size as the #238 version, as well as MIAMI BEACH, and using silver instead of green as the offset to compare with the green.
These 3-4 files should be it, and you are the winner! Thank you again for the great work and time.
