Wow...Small world. I grew up in Sarasota and Port Charlotte and lived in Tampa for several years as well. Planning on getting back for the Rays / RedSox series in early September.
The first two designs I have for you show both commercial and home concepts.
Often its a nice idea in real estate (due to migrating clients) to put an iconic geographical reference to WHERE you are, rather than a reference to WHAT you do.
Here I used arguably the most recognizable, yet kept it abstract, in the use of the Skyway.
Hey...it is a small world, especially since I'm getting ideas from all over the world. Like the palm and house...maybe try to find a way to loose the sky scrappers as we are predominately residential. Think "residential Luxury"...looking for class rather than cartoonish. Nice concept on the skyway but being a New Yorker originally....I dont like it so much, lol. Thanks Gregg
Mets fan, lol. Born in queens and grew up on the North Shore of Long Island. Paul, I really like the two I have ranked 1 & 2. Can you revise with different colors and fonts...maybe Navy blue company name...leaving the light blue and green waves. Also try working in "designing and building your dreams" as this is a key part of the logo. Not saying I dont like the gray...but I think were close to something and I want to squeeze you dry of all your creative talent, lol. Any additional ideas along the lines of those designs would be greatly appreciated. Gregg
Hey Paul...play around with the "D" sailboat...I love it but I keep seeing a fish instead of a D or sail boat..lol. Maybe stretch it or something. Where you living now? We used to take our boat to Long Boat Key all the time. Gregg
I actually live in the coastal Carolina's now (Wilmington, NC) It is actually a lot like home. Barier islands, beaches everywhere. Great downtown. Its a like Sarasota, but a little more historic and "southern" in its ways. Great city though. I was born in Jacksonville, FL and raised in the Tampa Bay/Sarasota area....My wife is from here, and we have little ones.... all born here, so this is where we have set anchor for now. I lived in Port Charlotte, Sarasota, Bradenton, and of course Tampa. I moved here (NC) in my early 20's...(Career move).
I'm out of the studio today, but will be back this evening to throw some more ideas out there. I think the "Sail/D" idea has potential too. I will see if I can make it more perceptible.
Paul, What do you think about leaving the houses gray and the company name blue...lol...I feel like I'm telling the movers to move the couch three inches to the left. :-) I think the three houses is too much. I lead this contest saying I didn't want the outline of a house over the name because I think its been over done...But you really made it look good. Love the sail too. So, we're a small family run business doing what I would say is High end , luxury residential homes and renovations. For example we have a million dollar renovation going on right now on a house that was built in the 30's and is on a corner lot right on the inter coastal...I love it, and I would do these types of jobs all day long. We are putting up a pretty cool website and doing a face lift on the name and logo... from my own design I put together when I started the company 6 years ago. Its too cartoonish, and doesn't reflect the company...I need "crisp" and something that reflects class, quality and integrity. And of course I don't want to change this again so thats why I'm being particular. Hope you get it... Sounds like you have a nice thing going there in Wilmington, NC...been there, great place, love historic places. Ciao for now. Gregg
I know exactly what you mean. My family has been in the custom fence and deck business for 60 years (4 generations) In Jacksonville. I actually owned a branch of that business for 12 years myself here in Wilmington. I always loved the high dollar custom projects. It was its own art form.
Here is the color combo you mentioned | #99 | Consider the couch moved lol!
I'll be out of the office most of tomorrow, but can communicate via mobile. Just wont be able to make any changes until tomorrow night. If the contest ends before then, the top ranked designer can still make changes after the time expires by rule.
Thanks Gregg. Let me know if I can do anything else. Glad to help in any way needed.
Paul, When your back in the drivers seat...do me a favor and stay with the gray houses and blue company name but try some different fonts to see what looks best. Thanks Gregg
I've added some new fonts. More modern layout. I also added a third wave on some of them. This ties the picture with the wordmark by using the same blue.... #132 is my favorite for what its worth.
Ok Paul, I think there is no doubt you are the winner...I just want to finalize the right combination....font, waves, etc. Are you able to tweak the logo over the next day or so even though the contest ended? Gregg
Gregg - Absolutely...no problem. I have a Tuesday AM flight and will be gone until Friday night on business...So If I can wrap it up for you this weekend, you wont have to wait out next week. Just let me know what I can do, and I'll make sure it gets done. I'll be in the studio off an on all weekend.
