i LOVE the colors but the background seems a little too dark ... i'm not against a darker background. see what it would be like with a royal blue or a lighter gray. Try to expand on the font a little and explore more Latin/Roman fonts. Number 10 and 15 are my favorites... i don't like #8 bc it's a little too much. but i do like the columns, perhaps without the ascending base, and i would like to have the construction and consulting below the name.
funny, everyone seems to believe that a column is the only way to reflect this classic ideal. very iconic but could also be the stodgy side of conservative if not done well :) I will try some some others.
AMAZING DESIGNS.... I WOULD LIKE TO SUBSTITUTE THE CONSTRUCTION WITH MANAGEMENT ... I AGREE ABOUT THE COLUMNS. IF YOU CAN THINK OF SOMETHING PERHAPS MORE ATTRACTIVE OR CATCHY WITHOUT BEING CHEESY... THAT WOULD BE GREAT... I WANTED TO INCORPORATE THE ANCIENT FONT MORE THAN THE ICONS... EVERYONE WENT A LITTLE NUTS .. I LIKE WHERE YOU ARE GOING
I LIKE 63 AND 58 I'M JUST CONCERNED ABOUT THE VERTICAL ORIENTATION... I'D LIKE TO HAVE THIS ON THE FACE OF MY BUSINESS CARD IN A WHITE BACKGROUND ... AND THEN ON THE OTHER SIDE I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE JUST THE LOGO ON A BLUE BACKGROUND
I will try to get a little outside the box for you. Thats where I was going with the SPQR marble plaque design. :)
#63 and #58 are just vertical orientations of a log that can be both. (flexibly without losing the identity)
There maybe times when you just want to use the Column D as a signature graphic.
I am working on better drafts of #63 as well. Better leaves, better column, still simple elegant lines. This will look good positive or reversed, in whatever color.
you can see the other entries right ? if you can take a look at #7 ranked... and that background.. there is a blue that's lightened in the middle. that's what i like the best... i think these background are a little too dark... i'd like to see #47 with the light blue background. i like #63 as well. i actually like a shitload of them but i guess i can only pick one. If you get the award, can you send me a few different variations that i can use on multiple applications ... web... card... letterhead.. ?
Yes these are designed to be modular, horizontal and vertical. You could do say a business card with the horizontal and use the Big D design for letter head and envelopes.
I'm not terribly worried about color right now. Our color monitors can skew warmer or cooler. This we can get right with pantone chips or specific color tags easy.
ok i selected yours for the final. But that one isn't necessarily the one i wanted it just ranked it that way .... i like 63, 80, 82, & 85. and their colors ... my email is Domusverum@gmail.com let me know how we can tweek these a little bit to crank out a final variation.
"Im having second thoughts ... can you see number 45 ...I like that logo... After having a number of people's feedback and consideration myself i think i like that logo .. BUT... i would like to incorporate that into your design...to have the best of both worlds... how possible would it be to do that ??? Can you see the other submittals ?' -----------------------------
Sorry about the shift. I think this will be easier to see and talk.
Ok. These are two different logos #47 and #45 so lets be specific.
You like the type style AND design of #45?
what is it from #47 that you would like carried over. The font construct where the type is broken into 3 lines? Not sure.
nothing but the logo .... i like the logo ... instead of the column ... (that i know you spent an enormous amount of time on...) i think that would be easier to print on a shirt or incorporate.. the lines of the column i think would be hard to print on shirts or other materials for a logo... i just like the graphic ... and would like to incorporate that into your design. number 45....
no it was #45 and ranked 34th.... I know it was someone else's ... is there any way you can find that graphic and incorporate that ??? trust me i know ..... nightmare .... this has been my day
Perhaps the best thing to do would be to contact that designer and ask him or her to make the changes you need. They created it. I cannot use it in any way. I am sure they will be happy to accommodate.
Is there a way to switch them to the winner? I cannot see the controls. dasx
i have spoken to the administrators of the site and they said that I would be able to split the design between the two designers should they be willing to accept that.. I have messaged the other designer and am waiting for a response from them. I just wanted to know if you would find that acceptable. thank you again for your consideration... I would like to incorporate both designs therefore i would like to award both individuals.
Color notwithstanding, this will be the mockup of the combined logo. Sorry this one is not a modular fit like #47 was. There will only be one version, on white and blue background.
