Thank you for your design! I like the colours of it and the idea for the O. But do you think the symbol part could next to the text instead of being one of the letters? It would be nice to see more suggestions like that as well. And what I have wished from the other designers is to have the long version of the name visible as well (Doctoral programme in wildlife biology research). The logo will be visible in international conferences for example so having the whole name in the logo is important.
And if you have ideas for something completely different that has caricatures of various species visible as well it would be nice. Our research focuses on many different organisms raging from insects (ant, beetles, butterflies to name a few) to mammal, bird and fish species and plants too. If you come up with ideas to incorporate those into the logo it would be great to see them too.
And words that I have in my mind to describe the logo are airy, light and line art. I find it a little bit difficult to put my ideas into words but perhaps that helps you a little.
Thank you for the new idea! Could you make the green the main colour of the design? We were also wondering if the orange should be replaced with another color. Perhaps using the combination of green and orange is not good if someone is red-green colour blind. We only thought of that today...
We had a look at all the designs with the board of the programme and made some changes to the ranks. They liked the general idea and the colours in #30 very much but hoped that the illustration on the left was something different. Unfortunately I don't have very good guidelines for what else it could be. Something that reminds of nature but is not so obviously a recognisable animal.
For the font in general they wished for something that had more modern feeling to it and was a bit rounder. Having the long name on two lines is very good as it is easier to read.
Design #67 is perhaps the best of the different variations. Adding the eye and the beak was perhaps a little bit too playful for the university world.
The Finnish name can be left out after all.
For the round font we were looking for something that is not so common. Fonts like 'Arial' and 'Arial rounded' are used so much. Perhaps there was another one that would have a modern feeling to it (=something that you don't see often in the media).
