I like the magnifying glass in entry #14 which symbolizes finding something or discovery. Is it possible to make the magnifying glass a LITTLE smaller? Also, is it possible for "custom signs & graphics to be made a little bigger; perhaps spanning entire width of word "discovery"?
Thanks for revisions to design (new #35), where you tweaked size of magnifying glass and font size of "custom signs & graphics" phrase. On that phrase, I'm wondering if possible to increase font size further so that customers more easily see & comprehend this is a sign business? [font width a bit more and especially font height]
Congrats ! I am going with your design entry #35. Having locked in the overall design of that logo, I would like to see several variations of color blue for the word "Discovery". Specifically, how about a 2nd version of #35 using the color blue from your design #38? Thanks ! Jim
I like "Discovery" blue color in design #53 best. The letters in that word, though, look a little fuzzy...not as sharp as say design #35. The phrase "custom signs & graphics" is possibly also not as crisp/sharp as design #35. Is that perhaps because a shadow effect is being used in design #53 but not in #35? I prefer the sharper/crisper letters in design #35, but using the blue color you have an #53.
One last request. Since we're going with a little darker blue than we had originally in #35, I'd like to see what going a little darker on orange words looks like. Thanks !
Strange. There's no shadow and both look clear to me. There's no difference in how I saved them. Could just be the way your monitor displays the color.
The slight fuzziness is more apparent when I expand image (e.g. triple it's size) after copying and pasting into a word doc, and then printing. Actually, both images get fuzzy (e.g. #35 and newest one). Is the logo a vector-based on raster-based image? If latter, maybe image is not scalable like it would be as a vector-based image?
Also, is the orange color in latest images a little darker as we discussed yesterday?
The orange in #59 is darker than #53. The logo you're seeing right now is a JPG preview of the vector image you would receive (in addition to a higher resolution JPG). The image is just 72dpi at size, so any time you enlarge it it's going to be fuzzy. That won't be the case with the final file you receive.
OK Great ! I'll go with #59 as the final version. I will end the contest.
PS: I haven't used Logo Tournament before; is there an opportunity to work one-on-one together in the future if I have additional needs (and exchange contact info to enable communication) ?
Hi Jim. I'll get the files together. Now that the contest is over we can work together if you do need anything. My email is on the legal contract. Look for the files tomorrow morning. Thanks!
Jeff, my apologies, there was one other item connected to the overall logo design - the tagline ("Helping Customers Discover Your Business"). I included it in the initial specs for the tournament, and a few designers submitted entries with tagline included. Frankly, though, in reviewing designs I most immediately concentrated on the "core" component of logo design - the business name - and lost focus on the tagline. Before we fully close out the logo design job, would you create a second version of files with the tagline included below the business name?
I was thinking tagline would be in italics, magnifying glass would again be used in word "Discovery", and it would be vertically separated from business name to some degree, and indented from name as well. As to letter color, what is your recommendation? Should we stick with 2 color scheme we have now....meaning I guess that tagline would be in blue? Or do you see people often introduce a 3rd color?
Jeff, one other quick aspect of tagline. I'd like the word "your" be visually highlighted in some way so that it comes across more forcefully. Perhaps that could be accomplished simply by bolding that word? Or, additionally, perhaps the bottom of letter Y could be extended down below rest of phrase? [Sorry, I'm not very creative...you'll undoubtedly have much better ideas on the tagline overall ! ]
I wanted to incorporate the magnifying glass into logo as described above. Also, please increase by 50% the separation of tagline from biz name. That will be final changes.
Sorry to not be emailing this comment but I don't have a "contract" to look at to see it. Perhaps I see that after I execute "final approval of files" ?
