Here are some of my proposals. Instead of creating a separate icon / typography combination, I've created an all encompassing logo / unit. One that can be used for additional elements just as branding stamps, watermarks, shirt badges/embroidery etc.
The logos are 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour, B&W and on coloured backgrounds if needed,
It would be my pleasure to work up any variations so please do say. I look forward to your comments or thoughts.
Thanks, these are really good. On #30, I like the use of coloring and lettering but I'm not a big fan of the design elements that are outside of the red box. Can you work on finding a way to fit everything inside of the box? Also, I think I like the idea of having a board instead of a wave as a design element. Thanks for your efforts.
On #67, try making the background a little more "oatmeal" color and less "cream" (I'm sure I'm getting my terminology wrong) like the background for the one I have ranked No. 1 at the moment. Also, try making the surfboard at the bottom shaped more like the one in No. 1. with a design like the "arrow" pointing toward the top of the board.
Not a problem re the colour, I've tweaked that with #100. Sadly I can't copy the number 1 entries surfboard, as this is their design, and copying another designer will have severe consequences, sorry hope you understand.
Can you try number 100 with a rectangle instead of a pocket shaped outline? I want to make sure that the logo can fit inside of profile pic spaces, such as Facebook twitter etc.
Sorry for the delay ... I have my retired parents visiting us at the moment!
Not a problem at all. With all the following submissions, I've added texture to the surfboard, and then I've made it more rectangular and also tried a few colour combinations;
No worries. All of them look great. Question: do you know if the pocket design work and fit properly with in the area allotted for profile pics on FB, twitter and other social media outlets?
Well most of the profile pics are square on those social sites, and the pocket design is almost square (current ratio is 1:1.22 with the larger side being the height), so this would fit nicely into those spaces. Also being slightly taller than wider works in its favour i.e. long horizontal designs end up being tiny with wasted space above and below. This design (and the straight versions) will fill more of the space allowance and thereby be bigger and clearer.
