My background with over 20 yrs in printing field, I'd recommend not using the slogan. Mostly since its quite long, and for printing purposes it makes it small and too small if you need to print this on for example pens, tshirts etc... small print will not display properly.
Also, even though I have some using them, blends are usually a bad idea in any logo.. hard to print or use anywhere except web. Logos should be able to be B&W and stay just as strong.
#81 is much stronger than #57 and would print easy... #57 would be very difficult to print, esp in silkscreen, or embroidery or anything besides 4color process.
I'd suggest a simple clean easy to read logo, with no gradients or blends.
Seems you have decided to choose logos that show no connection to all the symbolism you had me work to create... and your current 1st place was one you marked as not what you were looking for from the beginning. None of the top designs now show any of the elements you have been asking for. Please advise how you would like me to move forward. Thanks
I liked the planet for the O in your latest iteration. I'm wondering if there might be a stronger color for the "DI", maybe a red or yellow, etc. I do like the radiating light. It reminds me of an effort in astronomy to fund the first stars (lights) of the universe. I wonder if there's a way to make the radiance appear as star light?
Entry #78 still is attractive, but I don't like the Shuttle in the head because the Shuttle is looking to the past and the focus is the future. A symbol of change, gateway, door, future in the head would be more appropriate. The "cot" should be lower case.
All the glows and gradients as I mentioned, I'm worried about their translation to print (or lack thereof) thus why I did the #96 as example of #95 without the black background, and a slightly simpler look...its important usually to have the logo work as single color as well (and if I recall, they require us to send you a single color logo upon completion too) ...
As far as #78 is concerned, Janus's faces, the old looked into the past while the young looked into the future... perhaps I can show 1/2 a shuttle and 1/2 something else - a bird wing perhaps
Ive already toyed around with some door concepts as well and was going to try some.
I can do stars, but in antons examples I can guarantee you these will not translate to print (I've been in printing industry for over 20 years)... I can do larger stars perhaps to give you that feel perhaps (see nasa's logo for an example of why theirs works: http://global-warming.accuweather.com/nasa-logo.gif ), but remember your focus is on the logo, not the backgrounds, and a good logo should work on any background - not just black, not just white
I appreciate your thoughts and agree with the glows and gradients that we have to be careful. I like the splash of color from #49, but the "o" in #95. I was thinking of the DI more in the "NASA blue" and leaving out the gradient on the "I" as you suggested. The detailed JANUS of #78 is preferred, but not the Shuttle. I wonder if combining one of the door concepts you've envisioned and the JANUS heads facing to opposite sides of the door/gateway would work? I'm not sure though where you would place the JANUS-gateway/door symbol ... top, bottom, bottom right, .... ?
Hope I can tweak it to your liking now... please leave me more feedback
If you dont choose right away, you can get revisions from whomever you ahve in first place as you arrange people... hope all these almost 100 designs Ive done now we can get something that will fit perfect :)
Well I'm off to sleep its now 4:30am for me, Ive tried to keep making changes. I hope you dont rush your choice after the time out as you can still ask for revisions.
Also note... designers get points for all the designs that remain in contests but not if you mark them as not interested. Better to simply arrange them in order so we get credit for our work if we win or not...
Well, seems like you chose another logo. Well perhaps I can offer you my services if you require any printing such as brochures, sales sheets, business cards, polo shirts etc Let me know, hope to hear from you.
