Designers' GalleryLogo Design Contest

We are very pleased to see the amazing creativity expressed in the first entries. :-)

After a meeting this morning, we are going to suggest that the designers look at the possibility of adding "French Quarter" elements to their design concepts, including scrolls and the Fleur de Lis.

For those designers who are not familiar with the French Quarter of New Orleans, we suggest taking a few minutes to research this historic and fascinating part of the city.

We will provide more specific comments and rankings shortly.

The first day has come and gone already, and once again, we are very grateful for the submissions so far.

We have reached some additional conclusions for what we would like to see with our logo design:

A) Please render the logos against a white background, to give us greater flexibility to change the background later, if we choose.

B) We are not looking for a Mardi Gras theme (e.g. using Purple, Green and Gold as in designs #8 and #1), but we certainly appreciate the suggestion. :-)

C) We have decided that we do not want a logo that is primarily red in color

D) We also have decided that the design should lean more towards an ornate, decorated design... NOT too modern looking.

We are trying to express creativity, exclusivity, premium services and beauty, while reflecting our geographic region of "French Quarter" New Orleans, Louisiana.

We will also post comments for each design separately.

#12 is certainly moving in the right direction.

We really like the colors, and like to see some more ideas along these lines, maybe minus the fleur de lis and adding some scroll work.

The lower-ranked designs are either too modern, too simple, or rendered on a black background, when we had requested a white background.

Here are a few notes for all new entries:

1) White backgrounds only, PLEASE. :-)

2) The apostrophe after "Designers" is no longer needed - the title is: Designers Gallery

3) The words "Designers" and "Gallery" should be very prominent - We will be using this logo for store signage, banners, etc., so the fonts need to be large and clear.
