#21 is just another design I came up with. I know that you (Kitchen Table) didn't ask for something like this but I just wanted to give you another option.
#68 Good for you! You have earned my attention and hopefully you will work with me on a concept to further develop your #68 entry. My vision is: First, view the "2013 U.S. Open Merion" logo online as my idea is very similar. Use a realism (natural) illustration of a desert agave which is blue/green in color. On top of that place a golf club vertically, dimensionally the same as the US Open logo. The golf club (black handle) to have a knitted head cover with a pom-pom on top, drooping to the right. Red. Create a banner background that reflects both the Canadian and American flags in some manner. In the banner put the name (large/bold) "de Anza". Below the banner in small print put "Borrego Springs, CA". (Let's leave out the "Country Club" for now.) You can also create one with the same banner you have on #68,
Perhaps the print could be the same blue/green as the agave or perhaps black, or other color you feel is the most striking. Sure hope you can do this and look forward to receiving this from you. Thank you. Pete
#79 This is particularly pleasing. Thank you very much! Now let's attempt some minor tuning:
There are numerous agave plants in the desert. The style I have in mind (Parry's) can be found online at Sweet Clip Art (Agave plant #1). Note the stronger blue coloring.
Let's change "California" to just "CA" and also raise the club a little bit so there is more room between the top of the agave and the head cover. In raising the club, we still need to see a bit of the club shaft just above the handle.
I also think it would look better if the main part of the banner (just where the de Anza name is) was a bit broader and "Borrego Springs, CA" was placed just below the name in the small print. This may require a light increase in the size of the golf club or other adjustment.
#85 Thanks for this. I'm a bit concerned that the agave is too small and I'd like to see it larger to determine which is best. If you would, please drop the banner down (which will cover some of the club handle) and increase the size of the agave. You might send a couple of samples on this, - one part-way down with a larger agave, the other further down with an even larger agave. Thank you.
I would also like to see what it would look like if the banner were behind the golf club. The club shaft could hopefully be located between the letters in "Anza". Thank you.
Hi Pete, I was told by Logo court that my design of the plant looked to close to a photo that was online. So they withdrew my designs. Not sure why all were withdrew. I will come up with the design you ask for soon. Thanks, Sean
Sean Very disappointed and surprised with this. But I don't know how the art industry works. I will look forward to receiving your next designs. I'm suspect you will win the contest. In any event, once I have a variety of optional designs from you I will be presenting them to a Board of Directors for selection and approval. Pete
Hi Pete, I have another concept but it will not let me submit the design. I emailed the person in charge of the site but have not heard back. I know that there is only a couple hours to submit. I firmly believe that this is the best design yet. I am extremely frustrated. Sean
161 Welcome back! Looks good. Just need a better looking agave and to drop the agave and the banner and agave down a bit so that the bottom of the banner is on the handle of the club.
169 Looking good! A few items: 1. Make the maple leaf even bigger by moving the red stripe to the right of the leaf to the edge of the "clip-out" at the right end of the ribbon banner. 2. Remove the black outline on the banner. 3. The agave still doesn't "click" for us. It needs to be more natural in appearance. Please also try a variety of other agave images. 4. I'd like to see what it looks like if the center of the banner had a blue background with red lettering or other color combo's you would suggest. Thanks Thanks
