Slogan
We are still working on this. Here are two options we may or may not go with: 1. Be the connection. 2. Children. Community. Connection. 3. Every Child, Every Day. 4. Empowering Children. Engaging Community.
What We Do
Davis Education Foundation is the nonprofit fundraising arm of Davis School District in Utah. It provides resources for more than 70,000 students and 3,600 employees in Davis County’s 92 public schools. The Davis Education Foundation's mission is to remove obstacles to learning, promote educational opportunities for all students, and create partnerships that connect the community through giving. Several of our initiatives include: providing assistance to at-risk students so that their basic needs can be met (food and clothing), dispersing innovative and classroom grants to teachers who apply for funding of specific projects, connect students and families to critical resources, encouraging and implementing innovation in classrooms, organizing scholarship opportunities in partnership with community and private donors, and creating opportunities for community engagement.
Our target audience is current and potential donors and volunteers. This includes individual members of the community as well as businesses in Davis County.
Color Preferences
Because we are the nonprofit for Davis School District, we would like to use the same colors that they have in their branding - blue, yellow, grey/taupe, light blue, and white. However, you will notice that the district mainly uses the darker navy blue in their branding; we don't necessarily feel the need to follow suit. We would like to see variety of options using all of the above mentioned colors. Here is the link for the style guide that gives you the exact colors:

Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are open to different ideas and concepts, but the attached logo examples portray the general style direction we would like to take. The logo should reflect that we are a children't foundation, so we would like it to have a softer design (think more curved lines, less tech-looking and sharp lines).
Design elements to consider:
Icons of people/kids, connectivity (links, arms, continuous lines, etc.), bridges
Design elements to stay away from:
Apples and pencils
One idea we thought about was having three separate chunks/links/people/parts of the logo, each one representing one of our three pillars: remove obstacles to learning, promote educational opportunities for all students, and create partnerships that connect the community through giving. That way we could have the option of separating the parts to expand on in different marketing assets. BUT, that is just an idea, and we aren't married to it. We want to see lots of options and ideas.
