David LeeLogo Design Contest

David Lee is a country music singer/songwriter, artist and performer.

Black, Grey, yellow if needed, white, some kind of blue or some kind of red.

We are in the middle of designing a website. The website designer didn't really nail the logo but there are parts of it that we like. Please refer to http://www.davidleemusic.com/.
We feel the truck is too rustic. Maybe if it was refined we'd like it, there is something cool about an old truck. The horns are too large for the truck, David Lee doesn't need to be between the horns. We want David's initials DL on the license plates, which we'd like to be Texas license plate (red, blue and white is the Texas Flag colors) & will send the message he's a Texan.
I will attach a rough sketch David drew and gave to the website designer. The truck on the the website is another drawing David gave him, we thought he'd come up with a refined drawing but actually took what David had and just colored it in. So we are looking for something more professional, refined, and that will look great on merchandise, the website, stationary, business cards and so forth.
I will attach a few pics of David to help you understand the brand we are looking for and another sketch he drew but please don't get confused with his name spelled out on the hood of the truck. We dont want that :)
