This is just awesome! I really like it a lot. Can I possibly see a hint of the yin/yang symbol inside the circle. a part of me knows that this would be too much, but I'd just like to see what it looks like. Also, can you "relax" the leg squiggles just a little? The rest of the lines are simple, but bold and in combination make the figure seem to dance.
All in all, it's right on target. I'm moving it to the head of the line.
Thank you for making these changes. I'm really drawn to this design, and it is by far the leader in my mind. I had interesting feedback from my wife and my 4 year old. i showed her the page with all of the designs on it and asked her which one she thought was the best one. She immediately pointed to the first design you gave me and said, "That's it." When I asked her why she said, "Because it has the gold!" And she was right -- even though i liked the subtle yin yang that you gave me, the gold wash in the first design is the subliminal "champion" element that I've been looking for. Let's stick with that.
I still don't like the legs. Both my daughter and my wife say it makes the logo look "jumpy," instead of balanced and stable. Can you eliminate the squiggles altogether in the legs and give more of a solid sweep inverted U? Still keep the one leg short to show the definite tai chi posture, though. Thanks! Ithink we're very close.
Thank you for the quick turn-around on my comments! Big improvement. I like the little yin/yang, but I think it may be making it too busy, so let's stick with the plain circle.
The new legs definitely look less "jumpy," but now it seems to have lost a little something of the T'ai Chi pose, and to me even seems like the figure is slightly off balance. I think I know how to save it, however. Can we rotate the legs slightly clockwise, so that the long leg ends vertically . Then lengthen the upper short leg by just a tiny bit and tighten the angle of the inverted U. Finally, can you give it just the hint of a foot, like you had in the original design.
I hope all this made sense. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to seeing the next one.
thanks David... submitted #63 and #64. changed the direction of the face as well. now it's facing to the right. I don't know it that is relevant or not but i thought somehow it is affecting the overall pose making it more off balance. I can still make the necessary adjustments if needed.
LOL -- thank you for the final few designs, especially the one for my 4 year old! I have been consistently excited by the logos you created for this contest, and probably would have gone with your submission without reservation until the late entries by Wolv. He just managed to capture more of the T'ai Chi feel that we were looking for -- combining the modern and edgy with a recognizable traditional...ish... kind of flow. For this project, it hit the mark.
However, we actually have some more projects coming up very soon -- a logo for one of our other websites that I am redesigning (www.thewellnessevolution.com), for example. I really hope you will enter some designs in that contest. I was talking with my wife and I told her I almost wanted to buy both of the designs (yours and Wolv's) -- but I wouldn't know what to do with the extra logo!
Anyway, thank you again for your brilliant artwork. You are extremely talented, and I hope to get a chance to see more of it.
