#3 I like what you've done here. I don't think that the image will be large enough (especially on letter head etc.) to show the (beam). I'd probably scratch that part. I'd like to see one like #3 with a red beam that extended all the way through the DG, but I still believe that it will end up too small as a finished product. Great Job
#5 Thanks I just wanted to see what that would like like. It's going to be too small to show up even on #2. I'd like to see some more color variations of this. Good Job....
#8, #6 Thanks for the color variation. I don't think that the tripod incorporated into the letters is going to work. It will end up being too small and indiscernible. If you'd like to try different color variations of the tripod legs, instrument, or beam that may help but given the size of the entire logo, I think that it would go unnoticed without somehow making the tripod etc. standout more. Thanks this is great...
#12 made the instrument larger and in the negative space of the "D" while the beam extends through the "G". This should make it more noticeable What do you think?
#9 and #10 although they have different "laser" lines you'd never see the difference in the typical size llogo. Remember theses will be used on everything from letterhead to business cards to decals on truck doors. It would work on the larger images but you'd never see it on the smaller ones. I like what we're doing here but I still think that somehow we need to introduce more color.while staying very professional looking
#12 can you replace all the green with some other colors, maybe different shades of reds, I like the latest design but it eliminates the D by the tripod. I think that I'd like to have you show me some other ideas as well. Thanks,
#12 The green in the lettering needs to stand out a bit more. Can you outline in black the green and outline the black in green to bring more contrast to the lettering. Thanks, Scott
Dear GTE Design, #40, #41, and #42 have really caught the eyes of a couple of our principles that will be making the final decision. Don't give up.... Your work on the tripod and instruments was outstanding, it just got "voted down" in favor of the word design rather than the object. Please don't give too much credence to the ranking yet, we are still in the very preliminary stages and this will certainly get jumbled up before it's over. We'd still like to see some more of your ideas. Different color schemes would be good (I'd focus primarily on black and red though), did you win a contest for me earlier for a design for Pointsum??? A couple of years ago? Your logo's are almost identical to that design and it may be helpful to show some variations like that design. (I'll check my notes to see if it was your design). Please keep the good work rolling in. Your professionalism, and talent are really appreciated and are being noticed here. Keep up the good work....it's appreciated. Sincerely, Scott
No I wasn't the designer that did the Pointsum logo. The reason my logo looks like that one is because the Pointsum logo was posted as a guide in the brief and full ownership has been declared. So I was thinking maybe you are rebranding but you liked that design.
It's really nice to know that my work is appreciated. The rankings can sometimes have a negative effect when you had the top 5 entries and suddenly find yourself struggling in the teens. A lot of thought and effort was put in the initial designs. Thanks for the encouragement - It really helps!
I will continue to work at this.
The Leica instruments. What exactly do they do? I know Leica as camera brand. I am very interested to know what exactly these very advanced instruments do (in simple terms if possible). My guess is that they scan an area and read relief data. From what I see, the scan appears to produce photos as well? Looks very high tech.
I'm sorry it's taken so long to rate these, I'm waiting from input from other people in my office. These have potential. Thank you for all of your hard work, your work is excellent. Please do not put too much attention to the rating right now, we are only in the preliminary stages of evaluation. Thanks again, Scott
#141 I'd rather keep the shape away from the letters, it makes it too difficult to distinguish the words Thank you for your efforts and superb work. Your entries have been fantastic
I think that you've done it... You were great, we're voting on it first thing tomorrow am but as of now I think that you're right where you want to be. Thanks for being patient... Scott
