I like your designs - can you work in 'Cynthia Jenkins Consulting' in small type somewhere in the designs. As it's my official business name, I have to have it in there, but College by Design is the focus - just like you've done.
Wow - quick response! Can you provide some different color options...perhaps something with three complimentary colors that would be used as the basis for an interesting website? Entry #20 is one of my favorites, but I like 17 and 18 a lot too...
Thanks! For #19, I like the 'layout' - wording location relative to the image..I like the image, but there's something 'missing'...like it isn't really clear the cap is on a book. I like simple, so I don't want a lot of little tiny detailed pieces, but maybe develop the concept in a bit of a different way...Sorry I'm not able to be more eloquent!
#19 isn't nicely simple as it is..maybe it's the large 'block' image of the book that seems to dominate when I look at it. I really like the circle at the bottom of the book and the cap - I think there's something that could refine it a bit (but I'm not exactly sure what yet!)
I really like the font you've used, and I like the off-set College by Design (on two levels) I know it's a lot to throw in the mix, but if you can work in the tagline ("Expert Guidance for Creating Your College Path") that will be ideal. :)
I really like your new designs - the colors in #30 really work. Since I like the way you 'stacked' College by Design' in some of the other logos, would it be possible to try to do that for this concept and have the image off to the side or incorporated with that idea somehow? Just curious - it may be what I like about it is the current linear look.
I think the original notion of the book with the cap on it works better than the newer one (thanks so much for trying something new for me).
One more idea... for #17, can you change the book to a diploma? I realized I keep thinking it's a waiter with a tray, but I like the overall look of the design with the figure.
Love the new additions Diana! I may approach this next phase in terms of trying to put my favorite 'pieces' together. Would you play with some other color schemes as well? I like the different colored background too - any shade will need to be a subtle color like in the lt.blue/brown version. I'm trying to determine if I just like those colors together or if I think they're the best for this design....
Thank you for the new color options. I am starting to really be drawn to the logo in the circle (that is currently my #1.) The dark color looks like chocolate brown and not black - is that right? I love these colors even though they're not very collegiate. I think they are very professional and somehow...soothing. Perhaps I want them in my house!
Great work - I'm very excited about all you've submitted.
Yes, you are right, the colors are dark brown with a lighter blue to create a professional and soothing logo. I think it looks great! And i'm happy that you like it too!
This is actually a personal question - would you mind sharing your background with me? My daughter is a senior in high school and planning to major in art (she wants to be an illustrator - perhaps even write/draw graphic novels.) Her 'dream' school is Columbia College in Chicago which has a strong illustration program and overall 'artsy' environment. She was accepted, so we're just waiting to learn about financial aid. I was just wondering how you got into your artistic field and any other art mediums that you enjoy. I'm learning a lot through my daughter's interests and experiences.
I studied on the University of Guadalajara, Mexico. 4 years of Graphic Design. Also i went to Buenos Aires, Argentina for six months to study a little of video and animation and it was a great experience for me!!
Now i have 3 years of working on my agency "Studio11" and im very happy with the life i have about the Art environment because always there are new things to learn, never is the same :)
So i hope your daughter can feel the same!! :D
Thank you for sharing with me a little of your life!!
Sounds like you are doing really well and loving life as an artist - great for you! Thank you for sharing! A good friend of mine's husband is from Guadalajara (earned his degree in architecture from U of G) and they live here in Dallas, and another good friend of mine is from Guanajuato - a city that I've been to once and fell in love with! I haven't been to Buenos Aires yet, but it's on my list! Another favorite country is Peru! You might think I speak Spanish, but unfortunately no (or should I say, not yet!) I took French in school, but living in Texas and traveling to these beautiful countries has inspired me to learn. I haven't gotten very far yet. I wish you the best with Studio 11!
I'm trying to think of a few last changes to try before the deadline - in response to the feedback I've gotten from friends. I am hooked on the figure with the swirl and stars (someone mentioned it made them think of an orchestra conductor - to give the image of 'orchestrating' their college path! Can you work with both the circle design and the design with no circle in a couple of different ways: - making 'College by Design' stand out a little more (maybe because of the dark background).. - try a different font for my #3 - any other ideas you might have as to variations on this theme....
General thoughts: In some ways I like the 'contained' image in the circle I think that #2 is a very sophisticated look - the font and the linear wording The 'off-set' College by Design in #3 is eye catching
I just LOVE it - I just can't decide which version is the one I'm drawn to the most....
I realize time is ticking, but more options may make it harder!! I just want to feel like I've taken the opportunity to try as many options as possible!
Thanks for the new set...I'm starting to realize that the more variations there are, the more I'm discovering which ones I am most drawn too - so it's helping.
This is such a minor thing and probably the last thing I'll ask...can you change the font of the tagline on the outside of the circular one?
Otherwise - the only thing left that I'll need is help deciding!
