Oh wow! That is SO COOL seeing it like this!!! It looks "so professional"! Thank you DonCorvair! Comments from the owner..."might be a little hard to read the 'Curb Side' words from the street when using this in outdoor signage"...would love to see "Curb Side" stand out a little more than "Casseroles"..maybe just by lightening the font on "Casseroles"....
Also, after thinking about it more....probably don't want to have the "Drive Thru....tagline included in the actual logo design.
Thanks for the feedback! I'll continue to work on variations when I get back to my design computer later on tonight. One question I had, I looked at the website & saw the sign on the building, is the new logo to fit the size (h x w) ratio of the existing sign?
Good question...let me get back to you. First response is no....because we love that sign...I made it actually! But, it would make "branding sense" to have all images be the same...
Hey DonCorvair! Just talked to my boss and she likes the "weathered" treatment you gave your "Quite a Pear" logo and wonders if you could work that into another entry for us? And as far as fitting the new logo into the size ratio of the sign over the door...would not worry about that... again...that was just a sign I made...I think it's more important to have a design that fits more applications...whether it's letterhead, menu cover, t-shirts, thank you notes, business cards! Statistically, are more logos "symmetrical"...like would they fit in a 3"X3" square or a circle?
BTW...this is just about the "funnest" thing we've been involved in in ages! Thanks a bundle!
Thanks for the info. - I'll work on a design using the weathered look. Looking at your site, the restaurant looks like a great little place, very unique.
Morning DonCorvair! Love #7 myself...but I am waiting to hear from my owner...since she's the one "holding the purse-strings"!!! I can really see #7 carved into a wooden sign! It fits our style nicely! Thank you for your hard work....Curb Side
Hey DonCorvair!!! Just got off phone with owner and she LOVES #8 too! We talked about a couple of things re: design!
We would love to see a font that is half way between #7 and #8 as it relates to the BOLDNESS! (hard to describe!)
We love orange too! Is there anywhere you could sneak it in?
We really like the shape of the logo...we can see it at the top of our menu cards...our business cards....a t-shirt...a hat...carved into a big block of wood...but it brought up a question... can a logo with that "weathered" look be achieved if we ever want to embroider a hat? Printing seems like only way to get that look....
please enlighten!!!! Thank you for staying with me while we were MIA yesterday!
Thanks for the ranking & feedback, I will work on a design with a medium weight font & I'll get some orange into the design. As far as embroidering, I believe that with today's technology, embroidering can achieve very detailed designs, but you might want to check with an embroiderer. I can definitely provide an alternate design without the weathered look for certain applications. I'll get to work on the revised design asap. Don
Thanks Don! This is so exciting!!! Can't wait to see more...and that's a great idea...maybe just have one that is not weathered for an embroidered application. ~ CurbGirlLiz
Hey Don...if you have time to look at some of the interior kitchen photos on our website...the "guacamole" color that is one of our four "signature" colors is on the walls of our kitchen! "Guacamole" is so "relative"....
LOVE, LoVe, love that "Curb Side" font...a little too weathered for my taste... sorry to say that the orange "right there" for some reason didn't "fit" to me...
just throwing this out there....because I like your stuff...and your willingness to keep trying!!!... My owner has mentioned a few times that she would like to see a "wooden spoon" (her favorite kitchen tool!) used in a design...what do you think??? Also, maybe I'm partial...but I also like the TRIO of kitchen tools we used in the sign that hangs above our entrance...as seen in our "avatar"....
Look out now...#29 and #30 are kinda cool with the wooden spoon... I can't wait for owner to see this... can the wooden spoon be lighter brown and maybe the turquoise be worked back in...
OML...I have to get other work done today....trying to buy a house too...currently "homeless"...but I am finding myself ADDICTED to this logotournament site... AHHHHHHH.....
Hey Don! When you get a chance, just heard from our owner (she's been MIA most of day with busy stuff of her own!)... she still likes #24...but would like to see the wooden spoon with that one...could you put a little darker outline around spoon to make it stand out a little more....
and then maybe with the trio of utensils from #54....I still like that one....
Hey Don! Had a chance to stop by work today...they were busy cooking Beouf Bourguinnon and OMW it smelled so good in there...I wish I could package it...
anywhose....she was a little busy...so I don't feel like I got the best response from her...so I want more time with her tomorrow when she's under less stress...but....
Most of the girls liked #59...but our owner (MBW) doesn't really love the lines in the background. Can you make one for her to see that has a background more like #7?
She made the comment that she "couldn't see that logo on a hat"....I told her that if she wanted we could just use the "Curb Side" words...and that made her happy....I've got to put my "sales" hat on tho.....I'll let you know!
Thanks for the update Liz, Please remember that I can send alternate files after the contest ends for use on different applications such as hats, shirts, signs etc. Have a Great Night! Don
Hey Don! We are about to tie this up I believe! We are trying to choose between #62 and #63....but we want to see what the logo will look like if everything but the utensils and the "casserole banner" are weathered. We think the orange banner is a little hard to read with the weathering.
Hi Liz, Here are a couple revised designs... on #66, I have everything but the banner & utensils weathered as you requested. on #67, I only have the background oval with the weathered effect, I brought the "Curb Side" letters forward. Let me know what you think. Thanks, Don
