Hello, glad you like the design. If there is any particula modification you want me to try, do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you in advance

Thank you, Dzains - #39 is really beautiful, the feather is so well done, i love the detail!

i have two requests or suggestions...

1.)COLOR
a. i think the neutrals, especially the Taupe in the center of the graphic, is looking a tiny bit "green" hued...if the red content could be raised a tad, i think it would be more pleasing - could you maybe try to warm it up just a little?
b. i do love this color, the blue....but i was wondering if i could see an example of what it might look like with a different accent color? maybe plum, something close to: #DF95AB ( i don't know if you're using Pantone, apologies for the simple language)

2.) what do you think about trying to work the text into a curve around the design, above and below, with possibly the emblem "hanging" from the "&" like a pendant/charm? your thoughts?

THANK YOU SO MUCH - again, really beautiful work...

Thank you very much for your kind words! The pendant idea is brilliant! Here it is #47
Any additional modifications you want to see please ask :-)
Thank you very much

ok - so i think you may be right with the blue. The plum might make it too completely feminine, but that's something that can always be fine-tuned later, the exact colors...

I think the graphic itself is just about perfect - - - Do you think it would work to make the text larger around the graphic, so that it sits on a true circle around it? And then maybe it would need some kind of "line" in between the Co. Name and mantra to complete that visual circle (or not, i don't know)

And to really emphasize the whole "pendant" idea, that little "Y"-shaped element at the top could be extended to look like an actual bail that goes AROUND the bottom of the "&"?

Thanks for helping me with all this - sometimes i can see something in my head but have trouble explaining it!

It is Noon here on the East coast of the USA, and i leave for work in just over an hour, but will be back in this eve - thanks again!!!

I like the teal myself better :-) No worries I understand perfectly what you are saying! Here is #51
Your ideas have improved the logo 100%. Thank you so much for your guidance. Its almost 8 pm here so I will probably be asleep when you come back but no worries, I will implement anything you want me to in the morning.
Have a great day

hi Dzains-
I am very happy with the design, thank you so much - - - i want to try a couple minor variations, and i have a couple questions

design:
the only thing i'd like to actually change is the line in the circle design, #51...could you try something not so rigid and clean...like maybe a "laurel-wreath" kind of line, or elements taken from the lace/border in the graphic...even if it's more of a broken line...i wish i could explain it better, but maybe you know what i mean

colors:
1.) can we try a dark Taupe right in between t#39 and #51 versions - how about #A8916B...i think #39 is too green but #51 might show up "pinkish" in print (i've had this issue before) - i know some of it depends on the monitor, so i'm hoping to get it just right.

2.) in #51, can you make the "&" teal, as you did in #39 - i like the way it stands out and it will emphasize the "pendant" concept, perhaps.

3.) if you have time, i was wondering if i could see the feather accented with a second color (in addition to the Teal) like #DE1B1A...i was thinking this would be nice for the holidays. Maybe in slightly thinner "wisps" than the Teal.

Text:
Would you be willing - now or later - to help me play around with the font? I like this one alright, but maybe we could find something a tiny bit "lacier" to go with the border in the graphic? Not sure on this, just a thought - - - i really like the ampersand - is that the same font as the rest of the title text? I've used SquirrelFont in the past - maybe i'll hunt around on there - would those fonts work in your design tool?

Two questions:
1.) Will i be able to request multiple orientations from you after the contest closes - ideally i'd like both a linear AND a circular version so i have the options depending on the medium or placement. Also i'd like a file of just the graphic itself, with no text, to be used on our merch tags. I just want to make sure to ask ahead of time.

2.) Part of what i like about this design is that i think it will lend itself well to various modifications, depending on the season - i'm thinking an ornament or snowflake for the holiday season, a pumpkin for Halloween/Thanksgiving, even a lacy heart for Valentine's Day, etc...

so my question is, would you be available for additional work after the contest, as i might contact you periodically to ask for slightly different versions to use for seasonal campaigns - i may even try to have a custom pendant or charm made from the graphic, so i might need a particular file type or something for metal stamping or etching, i'm not sure yet.

my apologies for the length - i tend to think a lot :)

have a wonderful rest of your day!
Best Regards,
Elena

Hello again :-) I have to say you give excellent guidance! I made all requested mofications and here we have #67 #68 #69
ok here are some things you need to know:
1. Since you have dealt with printing issues before, you know how it is. Your logo may look even different from your screen to my screen. I try to create color by not mixing all 4 cmyk color so I can avoid as much that problem. Its there though, its a fact and that is why ALWAYS tou must ask for a laser print sample (95% colors assurance) or a digital printing.
2. About fonts, I will try to explain it as simple as possible. The word cricket and the word abacus are not same in length. In most of the fonts I have tried, the word cricket is much longer and that creates a problem because the words should appear as centralised as possible with the ampersand (which by the way was same font as cricket abacus) and also have almost same distance from the outer wreth so even if you find other fonts, I have tried so many before coming up with that. However I have two more options on font on #68 #69. Hope you like them.
3. Normaly a client can have only the selected design and we (designers) have a warning when we submit that we can not promise clients anything more than that. However, since its the same design in different orientation, I do not see a reason why not provide both versions. And of course you can have just the badge in another file.
4. I am always available for more work especialy with a client that knows what she wants!
See, I talk more than you hehe
Anything additional you want to see, please ask!

print sample - i will look into that - that's good advice - many times i'm using "DIY" product builders, so they'll send the customer a digital proof, but like you say, then i'm still just looking at it on my screen...

ok - let me sit with the fonts and colors for a while, then...i like #69 (this whole version is very, very pretty, and it definitely has a "holiday" feel to it!), and i do like the fact that is more closely spaced, and so doesn't extend downward so much (although i know you can change the spacing, like you did in #47) - - - i guess i just have to figure out whether it fits, or it's too much "fancy" altogether. And the shade of the darker Taupe is still bugging me, but i can't put my finger on why - now i think it looks too blue and cold - lol - i drive MYSELF crazy a lot of the time, so thank you for your patience!

I know exactly what you mean about the word lengths - that has driven me a little crazy too :) - does that problem abate if the name is all in lowercase? (I don't know if i would want to do that, but it would depend on the font, i guess...did you find any fonts that you thought would be perfect except for that issue?)

- For that line around the circle...i just realized it might make people think "wait, is that a leaf or a feather in the middle?" because that's how the brain works, association
- maybe just a branch-y branch *without* leaves, or a vine? Or - ok - see those little diamond shapes in the outer wreath? The ones opposite each "Y"-shaped element? Maybe just a dotted line of those - let's say five or seven on each side, in place of the "branch"?

on everything else, thank you for the info...i'm excited about the versatility!

Since you know so much about coloring and you are still worried about the brown color, I am suggesting if you have any cooperation with a printing shop to visit them and ask to see a pantone color palette so you can find the exact color you need. May I ask is cricket and abacus your business or you represent the client? You seem to know a lot about printing :-)
Ok I found a font which I personaly love and here it is #98. It is as fancy as needed if you ask me and it worked well on lowercase. I changed the pendant with little diamond shapes.
Again so nice to work with clients who understand and listen!
Have a great day!

Hi Dzains-
yes :) - i am the business - i just love anything creative, so i try to lean all i can - plus i do some website building on the side (i also run a non-profit, and i help other orgs develop their online presence,) so i've learned a lot through that experience

thank you so much for all your variations - i think i have it now...

let's try the following:
- for the darker brown, try: HEX #AA8F69
- let's stick with the feather accented with Teal only (i may ask for the red for a holiday image later)
- for the circle, can you remove the line itself, and use ONLY the diamonds (from #98)...

with these elements adjusted, can i see two fonts:
1.) font from #69
2.) font from #67 (original font) but just slightly closer spaced

If you could upload an image of just the badge, that would be great too, so i can see a little more detail...it gets grainy when i change my screen resolution - oh, and maybe the badge as a pendant with just "C&A" in teal above?

i just have one more question - if i was to try to create a rubber stamp from this image, which part would be removed, do you think....the center shape inside the wreath, or the feather? When you look at it in black and white, do you see the center design distinctly?

THANKS A MILLION!!!

Hello again :-)
I have just submitted #99 #100 #101 #102 #103 #104
I just adjusted the HEX COLOR a bit for the printing process to be easy because as you do web, you will know that you can have an RGB of whatever in web with no problem but if you transalte it to CMYK for printing, the colors need minor adjustment as the printing shop can not mix 38,2 cyan 28,7 magenta (random example) etc.
For the black white version 2 options #103 #104
I can't wait to hear your thoughts. I think this logo is becoming better and better and it will be one of my proud logos if used!
have a great day
