Our Ideas & Additional Information
We like the idea of the name chiseled in stone (either like a stone plaque or chiseled into mountain scenery like Mount Rushmore) or letters that look like chiseled stone. The geology of crete includes fossils in limestone and the island is the birthplace of civilisation - these are interesting thoughts but not primary concepts. The representation of geology, an island, and surrounding water also convey knowledge of geology and water.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Good evening. Thanks for your quick postings. We had a couple thoughts on this first set.
#7 best gets at the chiseled stone look we were contemplating. A slightly more squared font and a 3-D effect would be interesting. It's unclear what the gray scratches in the stone represent.
#1 we like the texture of the sphere but the shape has no appeal - can this texture be used as a background?
Overall, the use of the letter 'C' in the logo has no appeal.
The texture used in #3 is also interesting - can this texture be tested as background as well?
Thanks again. We'll check in another 24 hours or so.

Good Evening. Thank you for the additional postings. We like several of the additions we see here.
#15 we like the use of reflection to convey water but we are concerned about the ability to reproduce this on letterhead or business cards. We like this font.
#11 we like the look of the letters as islands. The font looks good but the "C" is a little busy. Could this be done on a blue background or with a textured background to convey the idea of water? We are not sure how we feel about the glow effect and we're concerned about the ability for it to be reproduced.
#10 we like the look but are concerned about the ability to reproduce because of all the grey. The look is more like stamped concrete than chiseled natural stone. Is there a way we can make this look more natural and less manufactured?
#9 we like the overall font and look but we would rather have the symbol integrated with the business name. We would prefer the logo look more like stone than concrete.
#8 we like the use of color in this logo. The gradation of blue gives a naturalized effect.
Thanks again. We'll be in touch tomorrow.

Sorry for the delay in posting. Things have been busy and this is a lot of logos to get through with some interesting new concepts. The rankings speak for themselves but I had a couple specific comments.
#21 We like the color combination and the wave concept but we are not fans of the backwards "E". This style does a nice job of capturing some of the look we were interested in but with clean lines.
#30 An interesting new rock texture with the wavy line incorporated. Would prefer that "Consulting Inc" didn't overlap with Crete. Would be interested in seeing how some blue could be integrated
#33 We like the blue but were wondering how it would look if this incorporated some wave-like feature to make it more representative of water.
#32 Another new interesting rock textured font. We would be interested to see how just "CRETE" on the plaque looked and whether some blue could be incorporated
#25 We really like the island letters but we are worried the overall look is a little too cartoon like.
#28 We like the layering of various gray tones but not the use of the "C". Could the same layering look just be background for the name with the name in the same clean font?
#16 We are split on this one but for some reason (je ne sais quoi) I find this logo interesting. It's a little too effeminate but I think with some slight changes and maybe a little use of blue it could be very appealling.
Thanks everyone for your postings. We'll respond with some input a little more quickly next time.

Back again with a few more thoughts. Continue to get some good progression.
We would like to see a few combinations as below:
Same as #55 using #48 CRETE font (maybe move the letters closer together)
Same as #55 uaing #44 CRETE font
#41 with the blue wave like #55
We still like #21 but maybe with a few changes. Remove the wave from the text and turn the "E" forward. Like the wave along the bottom of CRETE. Also try using darker lettering with a white background.
Thanks again. Comments above still apply to the other logos for which we haven't seen additional submittals.

Thanks for the updates and new entries.
We would like to see #57, #58, #60, and #62 with a blue more like that in #21
#67 Nice new entry. Could we see a version with a wavy blue line a little lower than the other designs so that there is always black above the blue line? Would prefer a single blue color. Could we also see a version with clean lettering (not the rock style)?
Thanks again.

Thanks for all the great new entries. We won't be able to re-rank or get you specific thoughts for 16 hours or so. Again, lots of good stuff. Thanks

Getting near the end now.
#86 looks very good. We like the blue line separated from the CRETE because it makes the blue easier to see. We would like to see this with the font used in #77 and #78. We would also like to see it with the "Consulting, Inc." in the font matching CRETE or in black for comparison. We prefer the new blue but it would be nice to see a few variations - the new blue may be a tiny bit dark (we like the blue in #55).
Thanks for working with all of our suggestions - things look a little different than they did last week.
