Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
Regarding #1, the emphasis should not be put on Council Bluffs, but on the foot and ankle care (so we don't need the head and shoulders, either!) Bluffs - as in the terrain - could be part of the design feature, but not necessary. Also, I think my client might lean toward a more horizontal design as they consider signage for their new building and location.
Re: #15 - Don't change the name! We're still Council Bluffs Foot and Ankle Care. #8 is probably closer to the right treatment in the relation of the city to the service.
We like #18 as far as layout of the words and font, but not sure about that foot logo. Looking for something more abstract but not cartoony. Along the lines of #7 but not quite.
OK all - just spoke with my client and he'd like to see something a little bolder, more contemporary and more abstract. Some of this is clip art that we've seen before and am kind of pushing for something never seen before. There's an eye clinic that's running in Logo Tournament now that's producing some pretty cool designs that might inspire you.
Please don't think this tourney is over! We like the leaders, but we think we would have come up with something like that on our own over a short time. We want to say "WOW", make our customers say "WOW" and our competitors say "Sons of ..."
I might add that what's appealing about #29 is a simple unique icon and the type looks like it would be very easy to see from the street. The new office location is about a half block away from a fairly busy street, so a legible type is important.
We'd also like to see something with defined contrast, with a brush-stroke stylized foot, maybe variations of both the side and the top views of the foot if that makes sense.
We're getting close to the end and I think we'll be very happy with whomever is selected.
I also want to ask and remind you to try not to get TOO close to another designer's work. There are some who have put us on the path we like and others who have picked up on it and made tweaks here and there. We're just as likely to pick the originator of an idea and ask them to fine tune it afterward, just so you know.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that the best original entry is the one that's going to win my clients' hearts, so put forward YOUR best effort.
Thanks, SpeedLogo! I appreciate the info being a "newbie"!
FYI for the other "newbies" on here today - the logos tend toward a more horizontal format since that's the space we need to fill on the building, and it'll work better for printed materials as well.
We're also looking for something that emphasizes the "foot and ankle" aspect more than the "Council Bluffs" (that's since our customers know they're in CB, but may not know where to find foot and ankle care.
There are some very attractive, very clever designs coming in this last day. Thank you very much!
Everyone - I just got back from a meeting and saw that we had a large group of new logos come in. There was only 24 seconds remaining for me to look, so I gave an extention of two days just to make it fair for myself and the client to review. Thanks for the entries but you won't believe how close it actually was.
I'll talk with my client tomorrow and get a new ranking out.
A couple of important points before I turn in for the night:
Although the tournament is extended to Saturday, 9 p.m. (Central Time, US) the tournament essentially ends Friday, 6 p.m. My clients' business week ends at that time and they don't have the opportunity for input after that. So you really have only 20 hours from this point to submit more ideas! Sorry, but Logo Tournament doesn't permit me to adjust for our needs.
Second, IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING FOR THE FIRST TIME, please read my earlier comments. We aren't emphasizing "Council Bluffs"! If you emphasize Council Bluffs, it makes it difficult to evaluate you fairly. The same thing applies to the dimensions of the logo and where it is going to appear - it's all in my earlier posts so READ BEFORE YOU DESIGN.
We're seeing some beautiful work here! Thank you all very much for considering us!
Thank you everyone! This was my first time using Logo Tournament and my clients and I are very impressed - extremely high quality logos were submitted and doesn't make the final selection easy. We should have it figured out by Monday and will let you know then.
