Here is one of my concepts. I've gone for something that's fairly clean and simple, yet striking. Creating an icon that works well within the logo or as a stand alone element, one that can be used for things like favicons or watermarks.
The icon is made up of 2 "c's" taken from the name ... Its also 100% vector so will scale well to any size, and works well in full colour and B&W.
If you'd like to see any variations then please do say.
Here is another concept ... This time there are two "c's" but in the negative white spaces. One is in the dark left area of the icon and the second is tilted at a 45 degree angle between the grey block and the green block.
Hello Angus - Thank you for these submissions. I like the simplicity and theory behind all of them. Could you possibly try to incorporate these into a dark gray or black background? Also, I really like the fact that each part of every logo can stand on its own. That is a very big point for us. As for specifics:
Entry #4 - Can you work with a sans serif font? Also, I like the abstract nature, however, we are looking for a logo that really defines large-scale construction. We are currently using a crane, which may work in this particular logo, in an abstracted form.
Entries #3 & #5 - My comments are very similar to those of Entry #4. These logos would be fantastic, if we did not have to somehow represent large-scale construction. Think, strong, bold letters, the use of black/gray/green and some type of emblem that demonstrates heavy machinery and construction.
Thanks again for your submissions. I hope to see more of your work.
Thanks for the great feedback and comments, always appreciated! Here is a revised version of this logo, bringing in a (slightly) abstract crane within the icon - and also using the corporate green colour.
This is a great logo (#32)! Can you try out a similar design, but using lowercase lettering?
Also, can you try a few more options with the left part of your latest logo, #32? We really like the abstract nature, the use of a crane and also the gray, which looks like concrete (one of areas of expertise). Ultimately we want both sides of the logo to look great together and then be strong enough to stand independently of one another.
Here again, lowercase, but I've refined the icon slightly. Elements aren't jutting out, the "C" element on the left is more visible and smaller, giving slightly more emphasis on the crane.
And one more .... Here I've refined the lines around the crane slightly. If you compare to the previous options where the lines were the same thickness around the crane, here they are tapered slightly. And also more detail in the crane.
Thanks for these! I really like Entry #34, what you modified in the crane, is much better!
Can you space out the letters in "costello" a little more, so they are not touching?
I am also wondering about the pictorial part of the logo on the left a little. Do you think it might look good to make everything gray (to symbolize concrete) except for the crane(to remain green)? The current gray part, arleady looks like that, which I think is fantastic, but what if you created more dimension by making the boxier green part (right to the left of the crane) gray too. This might make it more dimensional and more like a building of concrete.
Just thoughts. I really like where you are going. Thanks again!
