#140 Another option that incorporates an abstract chef's hat with a knife and can also be interpreted as flames. Please let me know if you would like to see any changes?
I like where you are going with #143 and #144. I really like the CCC in one color and the rest of the letters in another color. I am just not sure about the crossed knife and whisk. I can see how it evokes the feeling of a competition, but the site is more about a supportive community rather than people competing against each other.
#145 and #146 It's kind of hard to wrap your brain around it being more about community than competition especially with a $1,000,000 prize, lol! But I will keep trying :) If you have any suggestions as to what you would like to see, I would welcome them! :)
I know...it's pretty crazy! But in the end it is really more about supporting each other in this fun culinary hobby.
I feel that the blue/green colors so far are a little too harsh. Feel free to soften it up a bit, use other colors, etc. Those were just ball park ideas on my end. Think feminine yet elegant.
I am tossing around catch phrase ideas such as "Join the winners circle" or "Where members win." That doesn't need to be part of the image, but maybe that helps inspire a bit.
I know its not your entry, but the thing I like about #103 (ranked 2) is how the cooking element became a natural extension of the words. Any ideas on that front? And what I like about #31 is the "circle" element that might tie into a "winners circle" catch phrase.
Hope that sparks something! Thanks for all your feedback!
I am withdrawing #150 because while it's a different design, I don't feel right about utilizing another designer's concept of incorporating a utensil into the letters as I see my idea was copied in using a different color for the "Cs" and it doesn't feel too good. Hopefully you can understand and I will try and come up with some other ideas if you are still interested in seeing them.
My apologies, I think I have to take the blame for the different color CCC in one of the other designs. I asked him to give it a try. I am so sorry, this is my first time searching for a logo and working with designers. I didn't realize things like that were proprietary to each designer. Please realize this is my mistake not the other designer!
I really liked the whisk in the K! My first name starts with a "K" so I thought it could be a neat thing to have throughout my brand. Personally, I don't think it is copying anyone else. Please reconsider?
I'm sure it appears that we designers are very protective of our ideas and hopefully it does not seem too petty. But this is a competition and only one designer can receive any compensation, so even the little things we do to make our designs stand out can potentially win so it's disheartening to see our ideas copied. And for the most part use of similar colors is nothing any designer can protect, but mine had a concept behind it as it was intended to highlight the "CCC".
I will speak with nong and see if perhaps he is willing to share the prize if you should choose my entry. I would feel better about that as well! :)
Again, I apologize for any inconvience and please don't worry about it! :)
I have reinstated entry #150. Nong has graciously agreed and has no problem with my reinstating the design. And please know that he never contacted me regarding my design, I just felt it was too similar in concept and did not want to infringe on his idea.
Please let me know if I can do anything else for you?
Thanks so much for understanding and again I apologize for causing issues! At this point in the contest I just really enjoy seeing new ideas and concepts. I am not even sure what I want yet! I am also going to open it up to the members on my website to get their feedback as well. We often refer to the site as "CCC" so highlighting those letters seemed so obvious to me when I saw it!
Thanks again for all your wonderful contributions.
Let me throw out one last suggestion before time is up. I like the idea of having some sort of unique "icon" that is part of the logo but can also be used independently. (For example on a button, made into a stamp, etc..) You did something along these lines with entry #144. The same way that I could use the whisk/letter K in my first name as well. Do you have any other ideas along these lines?
I just want to be sure that I am reading your suggestion correctly :) Are you looking for something that is part of the text and can also be separated to be an icon on it's own?
A few thoughts for you before I start asking for "feedback" from our website members. For entry #150 can you remove the catch phrase and do the "cooking" in a different color. Reds maybe?
As for entry #145. I don't think this is a contender for the final logo choice, but I still like the idea behind it. The CCC letters in a different color is nice. It's just the image that doesn't strike me. This image is a great opportunity to do something like I was describing above. An icon that can stand on its own but also be part of the overall logo. Again, don't feel constrained to the blue/green color palette. As long as the colors look natural and "appetizing" I am open.
#183 in red and no tagline. I'm having a difficult time coming up with anything that will work as part of the text and being able to stand alone. I will keep thinking :) If you have any ideas, please let me know. I will be out for a bit this afternoon, but will make any other changes when I return.
I reached out to my readers and they had one fun suggestion. It might be difficult or too busy, but I thought I would pass it on. She wrote:
Whenever I am wishing my fellow contestants good luck I always say "keeping my spatulas crossed for you" instead of my fingers crossed for good luck. I like the idea of lucky crossed spatulas--but that is just my silly little opinion
