I like your logo so far because of the use of the yellow ribbon, choice of typestyles and focus on the word cure. Although I suggested using a particular PMS yellow, I'm not too sure about its use in the word cure. In this case it detracts from the focus of the yellow ribbon.

Thanks for you submission!

Yes, you´re right. That´s what I thought too. Another problem would be yellow letters are hard to read from far. Don´t worry, I´ll work on it.

Thanks for feedback!,

A new concept. I know you didn´t mark CHARACTER TYPE logo, but I thought it was a cute idea since charity is for children.

Hiya - very nice so far. Still, I like your work the most. Can you make some changes and submit two more entries? Thanks!
#1) Take entry #7 and change the text color to what you used in entry #8 and resubmit
#2) Take entry #7 (with the red lettering from entry #8) and replace the cookies graphics that you used in entry #8 and resubmit
Many thanks for your fine work!

Hi Nat - your entry #13 will be the winner on Monday when the competition ends. I am VERY pleased with your design. I would just ask for a few minor changes to the cookie image before we are done.

You have short yellow lines on the cookies that do not accurately represent our primary product which is a chocolate chip cookie. Please change the yellow lines to irregularly shaped dark brown circles.

Also, what file formats are you going to supply. If you are sending Illustrator, I won't bother you with tweaking the type. If that is the case, be sure to save your files in CS3. And, will you be sending the fonts?

Oh Bill, no problem at all. If you want me to work on the changes I can do that now. If you have pictures of the actual cookies I can make them look like the product you offer. Meanwhile I´ll add the irregular brown shapes.

Thanks!,

Nat - I just found out that the correct ribbon color for childhood cancer awareness is gold and not yellow. And working in a CMYK makes gold a bit challenging. A quick Google search of "what is CMYK gold" brings up many opinions. One opinion stated: "gold is more of a gradient between these two: C: 4 M:18 Y:78 K: 0 and C: 25 M:39 Y:100 K:3. But I will leave it to your artistic talent.

THANKS for your time and efforts to making the color change.

Best regards!

Nat - Thanks for taking care of the cookie image. Since we are a startup company, we do not have our product photography yet. But, we expect our cookies to look like these http://www.stonybrookcookie.com/cookies.htm

I am not an expert on the topic of artistic design. I do like the cartoon-like image (lack of a better word) of the cookies that you created. It is FUN and just feels right. I think if we move too close to photography (for instance) this logo would take on a too polished look. And that's not what I am looking for.

Dealing with children's cancer is serious and all too often sad. But if our logo is fun, playful and happy, it speaks to people.

You may add more realistic details to the cookies, but don't go too far.

Sorry to be so opinionated on this. I truly appreciate your patience and dedication to this project!

Hi again Bill,

here´s update one. Chocolate chips and more irregular shape for the cookie itself as well. Please let me know if you want me to go back to the regular cookie chapes.
Thnks!,

Great! I like #15 because it's a brighter image and plays better against the darker type. If you can work on the ribbon color next.

I will be gone for the rest of the day and will check-in later. Enjoy your day.

Again...my sincere thanks for all your efforts!

Hi Bill, sorry I just got the comment on the ribbon color. I was trying to keep plain colors, so I´ll make a plain version and one with gradients and see what looks best.

Enjoy your day off!

Gold3,
mix of vanilla and chocolate cookies.
I tried plain colors for the GOLD ribbon and it won´t work. Since I need to apply different shades of yellow and browns I can´t get a nice contrast with the cookies (either vanilla or chocolate). I was doing googling for childhood cancer awareness ribbons and of course I found gold ones, but also many many yellow ones (to be honest I thought they were yellow, not gold when I started working on this project). So maybe yellow is not totally wrong?. Gold also gives a "luxury" feeling to the cookies and I don´t think that´s the idea, right? Just my thoughts.
Later!

Nat - you did an excellent job with the gold gradients! And you do pose some very valid points about the use of yellow as opposed to gold. But, I know down the road when we really get into the hospitals and Pediatric Oncology wards, someone is going to point out that the color should be gold. Although it does not appear as nice, it has to be correct

And I like that you also made a mixed stack of cookies too. I think that I am going to stick with entry #19 with two minor (I hope) changes. #1 can you make the top surface color of the cookies a slight bit darker, and #2, the edges of the cookies are a high contrast to the top surface of the cookies. It makes them look like they are cut-outs, Can you apply gradients to give the effect of the top rolling over to the sides? More of a realistic, rounded over cookie?

BTW - If I am asking for too many edits please feel free to let me know. I respect your time and expertise. I will send you a check for any additional time you feel is necessary to make these edits.

You're the best!

Nat,
Very nice work on the cookie edges! And, if I may ask for another edit! The curved gold ribbon that sits atop the gold ribbon around the cookies, it looks somewhat separate from from the other ribbon. Does that make sense? If it would be lower in the back to look more "flat" atop the cookies without loosing it's distinct Awareness RIbbon appeal? What do you think?

Again, my thanks!!!

Hi Bill,

sure, no problem. I use CS4, but I can save for a previous version. I´ll also add PDF, PNG and PSD files (and of course the EPS and JPG files required by LogoTournament).

Thanks for your words on my work!. I´ll be here in case you need more changes.

Thanks!,
