Comment Activity raymer commented on #40 Withdrawn Great feedback, i will work on this some more soon when i return to my PC :) 5 years ago GregBurkeLandman commented on #40 Withdrawn I think we are getting close... 1. I like the dark gray as opposed to the black, definite improvement on the color scheme. I don't know if the shadow underneath is necessary. I'd love to see this with the perspective changed. We appear to be looking at the TOP of a flat disc. Is there a way we can change the perspective so it looks like we are looking at the BOTTOM of a disc? Then, with one of those pie slices removed, that negative white space might look like the tractor beam. You don't have to do it exactly like that. You're a better artist, so maybe you've got an alternative. The main problem is that it just doesn't look enough like a flying saucer without the tractor beam or some little dome shape on top. Its a bit too abstract now. It can be stylized, but I want anyone to immediately understand what it is. I'm going to playfully adhere to this secret agency brand in everything we do. Like... my bio is going to refer to me as "Agent Burke." We're going to wear black suits and viator sunglasses to speaking engagements. We're going to really commit to it. So it needs to be abundantly clear what we are pretending to be, or we'll just seem like weirdos (we might regardless). You don't have to just tweak this one, you can go a totally different direction if that is easier. Hoever you think you can pull off a "digital" style flying saucer & tractor beam, go for it! Thanks 5 years ago GregBurkeLandman commented on #5 Withdrawn Check this out: https://www.logocowboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/digital-ring.png This is just off Google, but another designer made something a little bit like this. I loved the concept but he was missing the execution. (And still missing the mark on several follow ups) I think YOU can do it! I don't like the way this thing is stretched weird, but can you kind of see how that disc shape could be like a digital flying saucer? I think the font is very appropriate too. Also, you're the artist, I am not 100% married to lime green & black. That just seemed like your basic alien color pallette. I am open to alternatives. Thanks 5 years ago raymer commented on #5 Withdrawn Hi, thanks for your feedback, i will work on some alternatives and will upload again later :) Ray 5 years ago GregBurkeLandman commented on #5 Withdrawn I checked out your artist bio and I see you are the leader on logo tournament! I really liked some of your other stuff. To be more precise, I guess what I don't like about this one is it looks a little too retro. It has kind of a 50's feel to it. I'm looking for 2019 digital, more like these: https://www.google.com/search?biw=1920&bih=920&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=VK-GXNl84ufmAu6MnZAB&q=digital+logo&oq=digital+logo&gs_l=img.3..0l10.6005.10759..11023...0.0..2.227.1236.10j2j1......2....1..gws-wiz-img.....0..0i67.KG289GyXq9E thanks! 5 years ago GregBurkeLandman commented on #5 Withdrawn You've definitely got the meaning behind the concept down, I don;t know, i just don't love it. I know that is not super helpful. Sorry. Thanks for the submission! 5 years ago
