Hi there, please find my entry attached. Stylized globe done in a funky way with lots of color and glossy effect. The design itself shows the international aspect but also represents Detroit with the 13 stars from the Detroit flag - 12 round the outside and 1 in the center marking detroit on the map. The stars also represent people all coming together - creating a community. Please let me know if you'd like to see any changes. THanks. BMF
I like the colors, but I dont think enough emphasis is being made on the city of Detroit. Not sure if a globe is the way to go. I'm thinking of something that looks like the state of Michigan pixelated by different cultural colors/flags
Hi there, just to keep you posted. I am working on some alternatives and will upload soon - possibly tomorrow. The concept you suggested isn't working out well - Michigan is a funny shape to work with to create that effect so I have a couple of other designs I'm working on.
Hi there, new entries attached. I've tried to cover all the basics of your brief. So my new designs place emphasis on Detroit, contain a stylized map of Michigan and get the international/multicultural aspect with the circle created by dots of colors. The concept in having the circle of dots within the name brings the sense of 'we're all Detroiters - no matter what culture we're from' - it forms part of the name of the city. The design overall is bright and fun with a sophisticated edge and would fit well with the overall experience of the event. Didn't know if you wanted the name in the design or not so have uploaded versions with the name and also a stand-alone icon to cover both needs. Please let me know if you'd like to see any changes. Thanks. BMF
Thanks for all the new options, they look great! After showing these to my team, they would like more focus on Detroit, rather than Michigan. So can we see the following adjustments:
For #47, can I see that wtih the globe as the D rather than the state of Michigan?
For #45, can I see that with the detroit skyline as the background, rather than the state of michigan.
Hi there, thanks for the comments. I've made the changes and have the new versions ready to upload. Because the contest is in judging mode, only the first placed designer can upload new versions, so I'd need you to put me in first place temporarily until I upload the new versions, you can then change the first ranked design to whomever you like best.
I'll keep an eye out for the ranking being updated and then upload new designs ASAP.
Hi CH, hope things are good. Just wanted to check if you still want to see the new designs you asked for? I have them sitting ready to upload, but need to be placed into first position before I can do it - the site only allows the first place designer to upload during judging. It's not a final decision or anything and you can change back to another designer afterwards, it's merely so I can upload for you.
Could you let me know if you're still interested in seeing the new versions of the designs - if not no worries, it's just so I know either way as I'm not sure if you're getting my messages and I don't want to keep bugging you.
Hi there, new designs following your feedback as promised. Let me know if you'd like to see any other changes. The concept of using the different colors in the word Detroit is to carry through the idea of many different races and cultures, without the need for the globe reference. These new designs are cool with a vibrant, sleek look and feel to capture the atmosphere of the event. The skyline keeps the Detroit theme also. Hope you like them. Thanks. BMF
Hi there, that's great news. Really pleased as I loved the designs. New version attached. Let me know if you'd like to see any other changes prior to completion. Thanks BMF
