Hello Chrisf, so you need basicallythis logo converted to a illustrator vector file, correct?

is the "glowing" effect a required aspect of the logo? This will work only on black or very dark colored backgrounds. It can be also problematic on different surfaces that can't handle smooth gradations.

Is this a font that exists and do you know what it is?

kind regards,

Hi Dasx,

Yes I think that's what they call the illustrator file a vector one.. It was just mentioned by two of my printers. They said they do like the EPS format cause it's easy for them to print on small scale works, but for larger scale they prefer to sometimes edit it.

The "glowing" effect is required in most instances for signwriting, however for logo embroidery no glowing effect will be required. This logo is only intended to use with two color backgrounds, one is black which will be used 90% of the time the other is a midnight blue. I had thought of using it on white too to give the feel of elegance, but this hasn't been tried yet

You are right the surfaces make a massive difference to the finished look which is why I seem to have so many printers I have to work with. They are specialists in different types of media.

The Font.. Ahhh very good question not many designers would pick this font.. It's been a while but I think it's called "Cabniolet".

Kind Regards

Hi again, regarding the font. This one?

Do you have the font that you can send? This also it seems to have been cut or modified to simulate neon correct, there are some differences in the cut of the letterforms.

Hi Dasx,

That does seem to be the font, or the closest to it. I don't have the font on file at all. This has definitely been modified as you suggest to give a much better appearance. I should mention I just had the word "events" thrown in there by a 14 year old girl to give designers the picture of what I am after. so if you are comparing the word "Cocktail" to "Events" you will surely find differences.

The font you have used in your designs is very similar too.. What is that ?

Hi Chris, I think I understand. I'll go by the original logo typography. Talented girl :)

The blur will be a tighter blur with a hotter center - more defined color and perhaps less foggy or smokey as it is now.

It needs to be produced in so that another designer or printer can go in and make adjustments to the color and the feather in the blur easily to adapt to your various printing/production needs. (Illustrator Vector eps)

correct?

Hi Dave,

That sounds spot on.. more defined color, less foggy, tighter blur and hotter center... :)

She is a very talented girl she did that in about 45 minutes before school, her specialty is actually doing animated portraits of children. We have set up a little micro business to help her now get paid for her works and at the moment before Christmas she is over subscribed..

Thanks Dave, I look forward to seeing your work on this...

Learning a lot, having fun and getting paid. Life is grand. :)

Let me know what you think about #71 regarding color etc.

I did a little cutaway blowup so you see a bit more detail. All the control for the blends and color is easily accessed in the file and you can tweak things according.

Hi Dave,

Very Cool !!! thanks for the cut away that gives it much more perspective.. Just looking at it the only thing I might change would be the pink circle shading. Looking at the blue wording there are 3 shades of blue that give it the rounded look, can we do the same with the pink so it doesn't look so flat. Also maybe a touch more of the glowing effect would be nice over the whole logo.

It's great that we can change this because I suspect on different media it will require different glows.

Kind Regards

Yes, the pink needs i more step for some dimension. and I will step up the glow a bit.

Hi Dave,

Cool Thanks Dave..

Not sure where you are in the USA but the timing on this system suggests it's 3am, should you be in bed?

Thats very funny, at our last exchange I simply could not keep my eyes open any longer and had to just shut it down :) Its probably the wee hours for you now so I can make the edits and you can review in the morning.

Hi again. Updates posted - I've also done some personal tweaks.

Firstly the glows are a bit brighter from #72 to #74 and the circle has some more dimension to it.

and with the "Events" type I added some tiny breaks in the letter spacing to help with the legibility and match up a little more closely with "Cocktail". I think its looking good.

let me know what you think

#76 shows the breakdown to one color. No doubt you will need this at some point.

Hi Dave,

I hadn't realized what time it was for you over there otherwise I would have just asked to leave it for today.. :)

The edits look awesome and I can't think of anything else that would make it look better. The tweaks on the wording do make it more legible and clear. I just need to show some colleges today, but I think they will be as impressed as I am with it.

I think the one color breakdown will come in handy for embroidery where the "Glowing" effect will certainly not be possible, thanks for doing that.

If it's ok with you Dave I would like to keep in contact off here because I suspect I may need additional images in the coming months, like phone numbers and the like for t-shirt printing. I could use a local designer for that but I am more than happy with the results you have produced in such a short time and would prefer if you did it since you do seem to understand the branding essence of what I'm about.

Kind Regards

Hi Dave,

Thanks that's great to hear.. :)

Everyone loves the design, so it's perfect just the way it is.

You are in the perfect place, the birthplace of many of the cocktails I create. You live amongs some of the most famous bars in the world. I know it's like 4am over there and google tells me it's chilly too. No doubt you will get a snowy christmas. I would like to come over there to check out the bars and many others in the world, but this will have to wait until my business can do without me for that time.

Kind Regards

Hi, thats great to hear and thank you. Give me a moment to prepare a comprehensive package for you and then I will upload.

Yes you are certainly right about the birthplace of some great concoctions. Haven't done the speakeasy tour yet but people say it a lot of fun seeing some of the old hideaways and hearing the old stories.

3 Manhattans, my limit :) I'm pretty much useless after that but I usually stay in the Bourbon/Whiskey aisle and it's unusual for me to drink beer. Come on over.

I'll get work on your package.

Hi Dave,

3 well made cocktails is usually enough, that's why my company is a success over here, bars and clubs are making watered down versions of these iconic classics which is what I bring to the market. I am usually a scotch drinker but will drink beer when its hot outside. Our beer is much different to your from what I have heard. From what I hear the beer is a lot weaker and lighter in alcohol content, but your smokes are a lot stronger than ours in contrast. I am not a smoker so I don't really care about that..lol

I would like to do one of those tours, I think it would be a lot of fun and will certainly keep that in mind when planning my trip.

Kind Regards
