I'm not necessarily looking for a cartoony, cutesy cloud. However, a cloud is not out of the question. It just needs to be abstract and simple. The "cloud" refers to the Internet, so other if you think about voice travelling over the Internet, speed comes to mind. A speeding paper airplane? The logo also needs to exemplify control and confidence, yet still be warm and inviting.

Hi Dear Nancyr ! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked in the top 10. We like to earn points.

~~ NOTE: While in JUDGING mode, the designer ranked in 1st can still submit revisions.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

All of these are really awesome and I am impressed with the creative talent! I want to emphasize who the audience is, though. Small business owners. Medium business owners, CTO's, CFO's, decision makers. If I think like a business owner, I am not going to take fluffy clouds very seriously. What would lend credibility? That's why any clouds have to be subtle. Phone handsets are very cliche as well as any phone equipment. Think virtual. Simple and straightforward. Plain but intelligent. The technology is cool, it works and it works well! And it's inexpensive and saves businesses a lot of money, but they have to believe that it works as well as Ma Bell! We don't want to copy her, but we want to present ourselves as legit as her!

Hi Nancy, out of respect for the other designers who have entered or planning on entering since you have already declared a winner you can end the contest early save anyone time and energy into design for this contest because they will not have a chance to win and can move onto another contest

Thank you, Scott. Although I don't recall that I announced that publicly, you are correct and I did decide on a design about 20 minutes ago. I was not sure how to end it until my partner found the "end contest early" button.

In addition, after reading the forum, I was made aware that if there were additional logos that were close seconds, the designer may be interested in selling and I certainly would be interested in considering that. Since I had just decided that I would use one particular logo when several good designs came in, I think it's fair that I at least give them a look since they went to the trouble to design and submit, don't you?

So, to anyone submitting additional work, if you have already completed it, feel free to submit it. I will not ask for revisions unless I am interested.

Nancy -

Once you end the contest no further submissions can be entered except by the top ranked designer.

Just curious as to why such a rush decision? Certainly MANY designs would still come in. Most of us were really just starting with preliminary entries? Was this a time sensitive situation?

I certainly respect your decision, it is just very unusual to end one SO quickly.

Best of luck regardless!

I ended out of respect...see Scott's post! I was sure of the design so why make you all work? I felt a little pressured to close it. Sheesh!

No harm intended Nancy, I apologize if it sounded harsh. Sometimes text does not portray attitude properly.
I certainly was not upset and meant no disrespect to your decision.

Alex is a top shelf designer and no disrespect was meant to him either.

It was just the first time I have seen this happen. I was curious.

Well, I am not offended, just a rather get-it-done kind of person. I also sent you a private message. Thank you for your comment! Next time I will let it go the full time! :).
