Thank you for your designs. Very interesting ideas.

I am not a huge fan of the circles off the sides of the lyre, but I do think it is an interesting idea of maybe going with a very intricate lyre with a very simple font. I like your font choice in 201 but we are not a fan of the color combinations. Blue and Purple and Gold were just a suggestion of colors to use but we will not be combining blue and purple together. One or the other. Not sure how I feel about using the lyre as a letter, I feel it distorts our name to much. And the LL's as the feet is just a bit too cartoon-ish for us. I love your creativity and also really love your clean aesthetic. That is what we are looking for.

Please feel free to submit any designs you think might work. I would love to see more.

Keep in mind. We are a high end arts organization. We teach children for the purpose of professional training and we are not a recreational school. We are striving to establish a top quality professional ballet company and these are the ideas we would like to portray in our logo. Think, high art, luxury, think elegant clean movement.

Thank you

So I know the contest is almost closed but I really would love to see more if you have any ideas. I really like the fonts you have chosen. I just feel like the lyre is over done. We have gotten so many and we are still not sure if it is the right image for us. I would really appreciate seeing a fresh idea. We need it actually. Thanks

So I am just throwing this out there to a few of the designers. What about doing the image in an art deco style, we are getting a lot of lyre's and not sure how we feel about them. I am not feeling 100% on the designs. I just thought that art deco especially in the theaters here in los angeles. It might be nice to see that style incorporated into our logo. Feel free to use what ever image you think might look best, lyre, harp or anything else you see fitting with our theme of los angeles "city of angels" and ballet.

I like your new designs with the dancer. Originally we didn't want to use a dancer because it is over used in our community and mostly used by smaller for profit ballet schools, it is never used by the bigger highend ballet companies (to obvious) but I really love yours, I think it might be abstract enough to be a beautiful shape rather than an obvious dancer. I like the one used in #217 best as ballet dancers do not often use ribbons (that is rhythmic gymnastics :) I would like to continue to work with design #217 and possibly #215.

On 215 lets remove the dancer as the T it is too busy. I like what you did with Ballet we just have to be careful because it looks a lot like San Fransico Ballets logo and we do not want to copy. If we could run with this theme and make it our own that would be great. Feel free to use our initials if you like CAB. We are not 100% set on having an image. Our name designed as an image was our original desire and we seem to have gotten carried away with the whole lyre idea.

on 217 I would love to work with that image a bit. It would be great to use it in a way that feels like is one piece together with our name. Right now it feels a little like separate pieces. I am also not thrilled with the blue and gold color story. We need something a bit more elegant. maybe monochromatic story or all blue tones or all purple, or grays. Just a thought use your creativity. We are open.

Please don't be offended I may but some older designs in the uninterested pile. We still really want to work with you, I just am going to keep our list clean to keep on track with the designs that are top on our list.

Entry #249 250 and 251 are much more what I had in mind. Could I see either 249 or 251 with the C, A and B all done in that style (no swoop line) and maybe in tones of dark and med purple? I am not sure how I feel about the blue and gold color scheme. I do like the two tone color scheme though. I am just not sure of what combination of colors I like.

I really like this. I hope my director does too. It is what I was imagining all along I think. I like many of the versions. I like 255, I like 259, I like 254.

The swooping line seems a little out of place. I think I like the designs best with out it.

Just a note, don't feel like you have to fix it now, we could get to this later. The top tip of the C feels like it is a bit out of place, it seems like it could use to come to the left and up just a slight bit. Do you see what I mean. Like I said don't go through the work of fixing it now.

I want to address the font of our name the "city of angels" and the "ballet". I like the piece, I think it works great. So I might see changes and not like them. But the "city of angels" font looks a bit too much like the image, and the "ballet" font seems a little basic. With out getting into a script font could we maybe see what a different font would look like? Something that maybe looks a slight bit more refined. Like I said might not work but I thought I would ask.

I feel it is almost there.

I think I maybe like the font of "ballet" on the new one and "city of angels" on the old one. Could the "city of angels" be in the old font but just a little bit smaller (finer) and spread out? How would that look? I also like the all caps with the OF smaller.

Also another combo to throw at you. I love the A line in 255. Could you use that line to connect the 2 words by their A? Like CITY OF ANGELS
BALLET

Where the A line is connecting the 2 A's. Just an idea. I don't know if this would work better if they both are in the same font? What do you think. I want to find a few different designs within this style for various applications. I like where this is going.

I also might like to see some color variation just to put that in your thoughts.

Thanks again!!!

May I ask you one thing ?!
Do you mean the A line from the CAB connecting the 2 A's from "ANGELS and BALLET ?

CAB
Client
No I meant. Using that same diagonal A line you use in the CAB image and use just the name alone and connect the A's of the name with that diagonal line. It was a way of taking the style of your CAB image and using the style in just our name alone. Does that make sense? It is an option for us if we wanted to use our name without our initials.

Hello,

So you are our number 1 designer. We would still like to see a few revisions before naming you our winner. Please feel free to let me know your professional opinion on any of my suggestions. I am open to hearing your thoughts as a professional designer.

1. THE C
The top tip of the C. I know I mentioned this before, it looks off. I think it is to close to the A and not straight. I would like to see it the same shape and size as the bottom left of the A but of course in the correct orientation for the C. Does this make sense?

2. THE FONT
We still would like to see revisions to the BALLET font. I like version of 264 and I like 266 (although it feels to big in 266) I still feel like I would like it to be a different font than the "city of angels" so that when the words are in a different orientation it will stand out. What are you thoughts?

3. THE ORIENTAION
Could we see a version of 264 with "City of Angels Ballet" to the right of the image (like 254) We would like the name and image to relate closely with each other.

4. THE COLOR
I like your color choices but we feel the light purple is a little to feminine. Could we see an option in maybe blues (deep rich royal tones) and/or a different tone of purple (maybe more blueish purple). Do you have any other color ideas? We are a little stumped on this. We need it to read rich and elegant, but not to feminine. What says ballet to you?
We would also like to see a gray version that works on a black background and a gray version that works on a white back ground if possible. We will need all of these versions. Is that ok?

Again feel free to let me know your thoughts.

Thank you again for your amazing work. We will be making our final call after seeing these revisions.

1. THE C
Actually I made the C closer to the A was meant to make it not too wide for overall CAB shape.
But now when I make it as it is, you are right, it's not too wide. Here all are the revised C.
2. THE FONT
#266 revised to #279.
Same font is not bad, but yes, if we see #278 with different font, the BALLET became stronger.
3. THE ORIENTATION
#280
4. THE COLOR
#278 : with darker purple,
#279 : combined with deep royal blue,
#280 : khaki green tone,
#281 : gray on white background, and
#282 : gray on black background

but it's after you approve my first uploaded final files via LogoTournament.

Beautiful!!!

I still have a few adjustments I would like to request. Just minor stuff but I want to collect all of our thoughts first. I will be talking to our director tomorrow to pick a font and then I will get back to you with our final decision on which font and go from there.

Thank you again for your beautiful work.

Thank you again for all your hard work. So we have come upon a decision regarding the fonts and colors. I have a few more revision requests and I feel we can be done.

1. Font
We love 279. We would like all versions done with this font combination. We were wondering if the "Ballet" could be done in bold? That is the only change we would like to see to version 279. We would then like all the other versions to be based off that format.

We love 259. We would like to see this version in black and white (with a fixed C and the new font combo)

We love 280. We would like to see this version with the new font combo. If it works I would like "city of angels" to be smaller and more spaced out and "ballet" in the new font choice and bold. Does that make sense?

I would like to know the name of the font you chose for 'Ballet' in 264. While we don't want it used for ballet in the logo I do think it works wonderfully with your design and I would like to use that font in documents to keep your style consistent throughout the document. I think they compliment each other wonderfully.

2. Colors
I am not thrilled with the gray versions. I can't really put my finger on it. I don't know if it just works better in color or if it is the choices of grays that don't work for me. I feel the gray blurs the design and it's hard to read. Feel free to give other gray options if you have time and it is not to much work. But we also think 259 would be a great black or white option to use (that is why I requested it above). It is an option to keep your main design for color only. What do you think?

We also would like to see some revisions to the colors used in 264 and 279. We would like to see a purple version with different shades of purple. The dark side, we like but could be richer and the light side maybe less Fuchsia. And for the Blue we would like to see a maybe a navy with a lighter blue on the light side, no turquoise or teal like shades.

Please feel free to ask if you have any questions. We are very excited about your work. You have done a fantastic job.

Hi,
I'm sorry seems like I've made you waiting too long for my reply.

All font revised, based on your choice in #279 with bolder "BALLET" :
#279 revised to #283 and #287 (bolder font for "BALLET")
#259 revised to #285
#280 revised to #286
#264 revised to #283 (color revision)
#279 revised to #284 (color revision)
The font I used in #264 is Candara
Yes Black and White is so steady, but grays sometimes needs for making your logo looks more serious.
Yes, grays indicate the color sense of serious, reliable and stable. Not entirely clear and free from the tendency of psychology. Those colors tend to be neutral. Gray is the color of nature, the color of a permanent.
Minor changes like colors and composition can be made after you have your main shape for your logo, because you will have the .EPS format file which is editable, besides I can send all of those version (include colors choice).

Best regards,

No need to apologize. Your response time is great.

Thank you for all the revisions. Thank you for doing them so quickly.

I will review this with the director and get back to you asap.

I am still not sure about the "Ballet" it looks wonderful in version 286, but I feel it is hard to read in the other versions. What is your thought on this? I think my director likes this new font over the old one (candara) but I feel like it is really hard to read and I feel that the bold only made it worse. What is your suggestion? Do you think it is clear enough? Should we go back to the size in 266? I asked you to change it from 266 because I felt it was a little out of balance with the rest of the logo in that large size. Or should we stick with the smaller size and not bold? What is your professional opinion?

I think my director will like the new purple color. I will get back to you as soon as I hear from him. I think the blue is still the wrong shade but if we can do color changes on our own, I will not bother you with revisions to the color any longer. Is color change fairly easy to do? What program do you use to make those adjustments?

I think we just need to nail down the font decision and we can be done.

Thank you again for all your work.

OK, So very last revisions and we can be done and name you winner.

1. Color
We are still not 100% on the colors but I think picking just the right color combo is going to take a lot of work and we can do that on our own. For now lets go with the new purple combo you did in #287. If you could keep the dark shade the same and just lighten up the light shade just a bit that would be great (just a very little more contrast would be great)

1. Font
We would like to go with the "ballet" font in number 279. Please use that font for our main design as well as the design of 285

We would like to have the following Designs:
#279 in the new purple tones
#285 with the Ballet not bold
#285 in black w/white background
#285 in White w/black background
#285 in the purple combo
#286 in the new purple tones, please DO NOT change the font on this one we love it as it is.

I would also like to know the font name you are using so that we can keep the style consistent for all our other documents.

Thank you again for all your work. I am not sure if this is against the logotournament rules or not but we would love you name and contact information so we could work with you again in the future as well as thank you for you work on our website. Thank you again.

#288 : smaller size for "BALLET" with its normal bold. In #287 I added a hairline to that bold font which seems worse. Now I think will be better if we let the font in its normal bold like #288, and I think here we still get the balance. Hopefully pleased...

Yes the color can be changed easily. I use Adobe Illustrator, and you will have the .EPS format file which can be opened in other programs such as Macromedia Freehand or CorelDRAW.

Please don't be hesitate to ask me more revisions if you still need it, I really enjoy to serve you.

#279 revised to #289

#285 revised to #292 and #293 (with Purple combo)

The fonts and all of the version of your logo will be sent after the contest completed and you have approved my first final files via Logotournament. After that we can contact each other directly via email, and this is not against the Logotournament rules.

Those are all GREAT!! we will worry about the recoloring on our own. Thanks for the tips.

Last thing the ballet in #294 with the purple now looks a little too bold, can we back off the bold on that one just a bit?
