What We Do
This is a re-brand for a lacrosse club in a small town called High River in Alberta, Canada. They used to be called the HEAT, but have selected a new name called the SPURS. Spurs being the back claws on the feet of a rooster. They can do a lot of damage. The players, who are from 5 to 21 will wear the brand as will people of all ages throughout the community.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I have included a few logos of concepts that we like. The logo with the roosters head and the words FOOTHILLS SPURS LACROSSE is the main logo almost as it's shown, but it needs to be simplified. For the first secondary logo, we like the logo with the standing rooster, but it needs to be more anatomically correct and have the body and arms more like an actual rooster. He can be standing there with a lacrosse stick in his hand, but make the hand look more like a wing with feathers. His one leg can be up like that, but make it up on the word SPURS to incorporate the name of the team. For the second secondary logo, it's the primary logo with the foot of the rooster and the claws/spurs and maybe slash marks incoportated. We like the font and colours of the words as they are shown. We need to incorporate the spurs of the rooster (from the back of their foot/legs). Ultimately, we're looking at a main logo and two secondary logos. All logos must follow a set of rules that we go by:
1. Size Requirements:
- Design logos with the worst-case scenario in mind, typically the smallest application, such as on a hat.
- The minimum size for such logos is approximately 6.5 cm in height while still showing all elements.
2. Compatibility with Various Media Types. Logos must be adaptable for use across multiple media types, including:
- DTG (Direct-To-Garment)
- Embroidery
- Silkscreen
- Sublimation
Consider the limitations of each media type: Silkscreen and embroidery generally do not handle ombre effects well. Embroidery struggles with very thin lines.
3. Design Restrictions:
- Fade or ombre effects are not allowed.
- All drawn lines must be sufficiently thick to allow for embroidery which is 1 millimeter in thickness at the 7 cm hight for clarity.
- Zero or negative space between lines is acceptable, but any drawn lines must remain visible.
4. Colour Usage:
- Limit logos to 5-6 colours. Some of these can be highlight colors may be used for emphasis if they do not alter the logo's overall presentation significantly and can still be embroidered.
Secondary logos can be more complex because they will not be embroidered that small.
A few items of note:
• the primary logo needs to look all but exactly the same as the logo provided.
• the comb needs to more resemble fire, like the logo included.
• I like the eye in the logo included; it's almost demon like!
• the word SPURS all need to be all the same sized letters.
Make him a MEAN rooster!
