Discussion

Please look at the Logo I've attached.

We want 1 large Dog & 1 Cat, NO PEOPLE. We like the tree.

Can you put the words: Chimney Hills Veterinary Hospital inside rim of upper side of circle and

Growing with Your Family inside lower rim OUTSIDE OF circle logo.

Thank you,

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ When you provide feedback to designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" designers are the first 5 designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The designer of the 1st place design will be the only designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Hello Michael,

Some of us designers have some concerns regarding the copyright of the logo you have uploaded. Do you know if the images can be used?

The Lab in your logo is this dog, so can you please confirm that the dog photo is yours?
http://dogpicturesonline.blogspot.com/2010/09/labrador-retriever-dog-breeds-pictures.html

As for the cat, according to the clipart site, there are some very strict restrictions to it's use.
http://www.catclipart.net/cat_clipart_images/playful_kitty_cat_reaching_for_a_butterfly_in_flight_0071-1002-1223-4658.html

The reason I ask, is that Logotournament maintains a very high standard for quality and designer ethics. LT strives to be sure that the client is sold a logo the is 100% original and free of any copyright infringements.

It is not uncommon that a Contest Holder (CH) presents their current logo (previously made elsewhere), thinking that they own full rights to it. Unfortunately this is not the case. If the work contains clipart, the logo cannot be legally copyrighted and the use of those images may actually be infringing on the original artist rights. Also, designers here can be banned from the site for using the artwork. That is why it is important that we know if you now own legal use and have rights of transfer of the images. This is meant to protect us all, Logotournament, the designers and most importantly, the client. We would hate to see you pay for something that you cannot fully own.

******** On the positive side, the designers here have the talent to produce a new version of a cat, dog or tree, so you can still get your perfect logo along with the piece of mind that you own it :)

Thanks for sharing Night Owl and sorry I didn't see and respond before this.

I will look into with my client and get back with you asap.

I did pay a designer to design the comp I sent to you, that may have been where he got the cat, I do not know. As for the dog photo. Obviously that is not the dog in the image.

Thank you for asking.

Yes we would want a similar but different cat to be fully compliant.

Thank you,

Hi Michael,

It's happened before, that a client has bought plagiarized work unbeknownst to them. So it's best to clarify everything before getting in deeper and then finding out that the work you paid for is not legal.

Thanks.

Hi All,

Sorry for the extra time. The client is working out all the wrinkles with the clipart and other issues. Feel free to submit new ideas.
