I think the Contest holder should be updating the standings, that way would more than likely get more designers to enter in the contest...

Thanks for the feedback - I'll try to do that. What about when one designer submits a number of similar designs, if I choose the one that I like best and put it in the shortlist, can I eliminate the others? The designs that I like best are the ones with a "serious" font. I do not like where the whole thing is too tall. I like the red, blue, and grey the best, although some of the golds and greens have been attractive. I don't want the grey to be too light, either. I like where the font size is similar in the company name and I think I will eliminate the exclamation point on the slogan. Also, I don't want the logo to be overbearing in size.

yes you can eliminate the sames designs when it comes to the final judgement..though it is good to keep as many designers and award points....... I find that odd you ask this yet you eliminate my 1 design with 2 layout changes....
