Couple of alternatives uploaded - thanks a million for the help!

I think the simplicity is spot on! I'd love to see a version without the "bow tie" too. I like the bowtie/ribbon element, but curious how it would look without.

Ah, thanks so much for the feedback, it really helps move things along...if you look at this would you say 'more simple' or 'a bit more detail'?

Thanks for this design, I like it. I think the most important word for us is Independent, not certified. Also the smaller font might be a little too small for the applications of this logo.
Any way you could rework it with that feedback in mind?

I've tried to add a number of subtle elements here while keeping the simplicity ... the outer white circle forms the letter C - while the whole shape is like a lower case I. Additionally, the shape of the logo itself is a bit like an abstract head wearing a bow tie - suggests the service industry. Let me know what you think.
